Tour Guide day

Think BIG.
This is one of my mom's very much favorite picture of all. The panther looks like he is petting my butt. Or maybe even protecting me.

Today I am taking Brandie (our new "temporary" neighbor) to see the sculptures of Mr. Alan Cottrill. I think she will like them very much. She loves all animals, butt especially dogs. I have never been a tour guide before, so I am kind of nervous about this.
I hope Mr. Cottrill is there. I am not sure if he will remember me or not. I haven't seen him since back when it was cold weather. I have always wonded what he thought of my Goose Egg story that I wrote about his goose sculpture. It is my personal very much favorite story.
You know who else I have not seen lately???? I have not seen Jim the Grinch Guy for days. Now that really worries me. When I don't see him for a while it usually means that he is plotting an planning some awful grinchy thing to do to me or to my mom. Hummmm, maybe he is getting his Christmas Lights out and ready to put up... BEFORE my dad gets mine up. I had better talk to dad about this important issue.

more loony things

See how low they stay in the water? Not like a duck or goose. We watched them dive and come up with fish. I guess they were having their supper.
I hope you can see the tail. They are kind of like a beaver's paddle tail. They are really long and lean.

I said that I would send you a couple more pics of those loons. I think they are such strange birds.

Today it is going to be sunny and cool so I am going to do a lot of yard work. I love that stuff you know.

My garden is almost all finished for the year. There are still green peppers and mean beans growing. I will be picking those later this week so that we can take them to Lori next weekend.

Last night mom and dad and I went down the road to visit with the pipeline workers who are "living" in their 5th. wheeler campers in the field below the Grinch's house. These are very much nice people. One family has 3 dogs, butt I don't think they like me. They just bark and bark. I don't go close to their fence.
Tomorrow mom and I are going to take the dog's mom to the big town to see the sculptures that Alan Cottrill does. I get to go because I know more about the stuff than mom does. I hope you remember the story I wrote about the Goose Egg. It was based on the egg that I really did find. I have pictures of Mr. Cottrill's GIANT goose sculpture. I will be the TOUR GUIDE for this lady. It will be a big job, butt I really do know all about this place and can show her all the really very much grrreat ones. I'll let you know how it goes on Tuesday. I very much hope that Mr. Cottrill is there. I like that man.
This lady is called Brandy. She and her husband (Loren) are from a place called Oklahoma. One man named Johnny is from Texas, and the other one is from Bethleham, Pennsylvania.
The men are working on this big pipeline project. It will have natural gas from way out west and will take it clear to New Jersey. Johnny and Loren weld the pipe and Bob is an engineer. I don't understand any of this. I am just repeating what I have heard them explain stuff to mom and dad. They will be here clear up until Thanksgiving time. Unless the work goes much faster than expected. They even had to dig way deep to go UNDER the Muskingum River.
I hope that wasn't TMI.

We were SNEAKY

This is my grrrreat friend, Katlin. She is soooooo smart. She is an A+ student. Dad and I took her for a ride on my 4-wheeler. We loved taking her. She giggled.
These are aprons that Katlin and her mom made for my mom. These are all pics that they took from my blog. Mom just TREASURES these things. She even put them INSIDE the closet in my toy room when SARGE came to visit. That was so he couldn't possibly get them and.... well, you know all about the things that HE can and does do. Mom says that it was SOOOOO sweet for Katlin and her mom to make these for her. Sometimes I see her touching them with a smile on her face.

Yesterday we did very much fun thing. We took a BACK TO SCHOOL present to my friend Katlin and her mom and dad. BUTT... we waited until we were sure they had already left for school before we took it to their house. We left the package on their porch. That is so they will find it and be super duper surprised!!! he he he Just a little special thing for some VERY SPECIAL people.

These are such nice people. They do many many good things for lots of people. They even come to the Luau to help with pushing my boat off the sand, which is very much hard work when she is loaded with people. Such kind and thoughtful people should have little surprises now and then, just to let them know that they are appreciated and thought about.

301

This is one of a pair of Loons. They were roosting too far apart for mom to get a pic of both of them at once.

This is one of the LOONS as it is taking off from the water. It shows the splashes that its feet and tail made. It was moving sooooo fast that the bird is kind of out of focus. I like the picture though.
This is my dad's nef you. His name is Mark. We met up with him on Tues. afternoon as he was getting ready to go out on a bass Tournament. More about that later.
These are just 3 of the reasons that we love our lake. There is always something interesting to see and do. I don't think I have ever told you the history of Burr Oak Lake. It is a man made lake. The work started in 1947. That is very much long ago. The area was nothing but a huge forest when they started. They had to use teams of horses to do some of the work because there were no roads to get in there. The lake is fed by both springs and one small creek.
There is only one private home that can be seen from the lake. There is also a state run Lodge, butt you can hardly see it because of all the trees. There are no bars or restaurants like there are on some lakes. This is all state property. It is in the Wayne National Forest.
The state record BASS was caught in Burr Oak Lake. Butt dad doesn't fish for bass much.
Mark called us last night. He had only fished about ten mins. when he hooked a HUGE bass. He got it clear to the side of the boat. He and his fishing partner both saw it... butt it got off the hook. Darn. Of course all the fish caught in a tourny are released right after they are counted and weighed. Mark is still excited about the ALMOST... just to see a fish that big is grrrreat.
I do have some more pictures of the LOONS that I might put in for you some other day. They are really strange. When they are in the water the only part you can really see is their long neck and head. The rest is usually clear under water. Boy can they ever dive and swim. Neat birds.
We still love and are proud of Mark, even though he didn't win the tourny. he he he.
I hope that I didn't bore you with all this lake info.. I just wanted to share with you.

My 300th. Post

I can hardly believe that just a few days ago my garden looked like this. That is a baby cabbage plant behind me. Those heads of cabbage have all been picked and chopped and frozen ready for winter eating. The tomatoes are almost all gone as is the corn. Wow. The time surely does fly like an eagle. I can just not believe that I have now made 300 posts. I have made sooooo very many super new friends this way. It will soon be a full year since I started my blog. I was only 2 then. I was afraid to go down the stairs to the garage where Jennifer Jeep lives. I was afraid to go places in Jennifer back then. I didn't even have my very much own YapStop computer when I posted the first time. I had to use mom's nasty old desk top and sit on the roller scooter chair and use that disgusting MOUSE thing. Thank you again Santa Paws for my grrrreat YapStop.
Yes, time does fly. I am writing my 300 th. post and I am a very much grown up and brave dachshund. I wonder what changes my 400 th. post will have for us?????

The lake is a beautiful place to be on a day when there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the temp. was 87 degrees. I never even got hot when I was on shore digging and sniffing and having a blast.
Mom said that the best part of the day was... She was on the Lake instead of in a classroom full of kids like she used to be on the first day of school.

We had such a very much wonderful day that... I have decided to do it all over again TODAY!!!
MAKE READY TO SHOVE OFF MATEY.
TALK TO YOU TOMORROW ON POST #300 DAY. Hope you have a grrrrreat day.

# 298

I am almost at the 300 posts mark. I plan to make it this week. I very much like planning things like... all day yesterday I was working in the yard and garden and making plans for TODAY.
I suppose you can tell that I planned to make a run to the lake today, can't you.
I am going to do some really restful and relaxing... shore work.
Mom is going to take her book, and my cheese and other food things. Dad is going to drive the boat to my favorite places and maybe do a little fishing. We need to have some leave time after all these days working outside.
I am sure glad that mom has already finished her canning and stuff. My friend FawnTell is working on making tomato juice. The Grinch Guy picked a BUNCH of tomatoes and now she has to stay home and do that WHILE I AM PLAYING AT MY LAKE. he he he
The Grinch Guy came here yesterday and borrowed mom's magical juice maker thingy. That was really really funny to me beclaws just the day before he had come on his 4-wheeler loaded down with all the stuff that my dad had taken down there. So mom said, "Oh good. Now I can get YOUR wood splitter sent Back down the road to YOUR house." Butt the Grinch Guy wouldn't let that happen for some reason that I don't understand.
And guess what he did when he was here:::: He got into mom's homemade cookies !!! I don't understand that stuff either, beclaws mom told DAD that he wasn't allowed to have any of them until we go to Lori's. I don't know how that Grinch gets by with all this stuff.
Yesterday my mom picked some of our grapes then she cut the vines. She froze the grapes so that she can make pies later. Did you know that grapes and raisins are very much bad for dogs to eat???? I don't know why though. I just know that mom said I couldn't touch them SOOOOOOO, while she did that stuff I dug 3 super duper dachshund holes under the vines. I don't know why mom was so happy about them, butt she was. She told dad something about him not needing to get the weed whacker out after I got finished.
OKAY, I see boat things and the cooler being gathered up. Gotta go !!!

Cold weather for August

Geeeee Whizzzz I woke up this morning and did not want to get out of the warm bed. It was soooo cold. Well at least it was cold for what it should be in August. I know it is supposed to warm up a lot today, butt...

It sure has been comfortable for me to be doing my very much hard garden digging. I worked out there for almost 3 hours yesterday. Mom was pulling weeds and dad was taking the tomato stakes down. I guess they feel as sad as I do about the fact that summer is almost over. We three just love the long warm days. That is because we LOVE to be outside.

We can rank the seasons like this... Summer (sunny super grrrreat) Spring (refreshing, happy, hopeful) Fall (pretty butt sad) Winter (cold dark miserable)

What do you think? Which is your favorite season? Why is that.

Fun in my yard

Boy oh Boy did I ever have a very much grrrreat day. Mom and dad were too busy to watch me very close soooooo.... I nosed around and found two more moleys to gwalk. I made some super duper trenches in the yard. It was way fun for me.
Mom was getting ready to can corn and dad was mowing. When the people are away, the dachshund WILL play. I am hoping for another day just like it. Mom picked and canned 15 pts. of corn, and cut down all the big tall things that the corn grows on. She also picked green peppers. She is going to make salsa next. That will keep her out of MY hair for hours. Dad is going to pick the tomatoes and wash them for her. YEP, out of my hair too. WHEEEEE watch out you nasty little moleys. I am going to tear up all of your tunnels. Can't wait to get started.

Getting our heads on straight

Hi every buddy,
Thanks for the positive and thought provoking comments on yesterday's post. It really helped get things in perspective for mom and me. When we call Lori on Monday we will pass all your wise words on to her.
Good friends and hard work always seem to make the bumps in our road seem small.
I went down under my maple tree and gwalked my moley for a hour and then helped mom pick 9 gallons of mean beans. Then mom and I delivered 8 1/2 gallons of beans down the road to 4 of the neighbors that don't have a garden. I am feeling much better about life now.

We really are a very much lucky and blessed family.

No Surgery for Lori

This is a very sad post. Lori learned that she is NOT a candidate for Lasik surgery. She and mom and I are soooo sad and depressed about this. We had been waiting for 3 months and were all hyped up and excited about this. When Lori called she cried and it was all mom could do to keep from it. After she hung up she did cry and I have whined and whimpered because we feel so bad.

Now we have to look for a silver lining instead of the dark cloud itself.
The good news is that they were so professional at the clinic. They would not do the surgery and risk her sight. She can still have excellent vision with lenses.

It is better to have tried and failed, than never to have tried at all.

Okay, I feel a little better, but I still want to whimper and whine for Lori.

I did get some very interesting news from my wimmen (Ruby & Penny) who live in Canada. They wanted to set the recornd straight. Lasik is NOT free for Canadians. Mom and I were really surprised to find this out. I wanted to tell you this because right now there are so many rumors floating around this country about health care. My girls did not say why it isn't covered under their health care system, butt mom and I both feel it should be. It would save money in the long run. Maybe they will explain it more today.

I wanted to be sure to make this correction for you. I don't like to spread false rumors. You can read what Ruby and Penny had to say yesterday. I thank them for giving me the facts.

I also wanted to say again how very professional and caring the people at the Lasik Center of Canada were. Lori said that they seemed to feel as badly as she did. They were looking out for her best interests.

My very much good friend TWIX had some super information about Lasik yesterday. ( you can go back and see what Twix said) My mom is one of the really lucky people who actually sees better since she had her Lasik (PRK actually).
Twix's mom actually works in a Lasik center here in this country. So what Twix says can be counted on to be correct.

I am still upset about poor Lori. I am going to close today by saying one of my really bad things. Oh CAT FART.

Being Political... again

You might remember back in the fall when I campaigned for Bark O'momma. I felt then and still feel that he was the right choice. I mostly believed that we needed health care reform. It just costs too much plastic for people and pets to be healthy in this country.
My mom's grandfather used to say that doctors were all FEE SPLITTERS. You have to go to one doctor to get referred to another one so they both get paid. If you go to the hospital... lots and lots of doctors might come in your room (and get paid for it) and you don't even know them and they don't even actually do anything.
As I told you yesterday, Lori is having Lasik surgery today IN CANADA !!!!
In this country it costs over $1,200 to have it done. In Canada you can get it for less than $800.00. Of course the Canadians DON'T PAY ANYTHING FOR THEIR LASIK.
My mom had this done 11 years ago. It has paid for itself over and over again. BUTT, her insurance would not pay for it. They would rather pay hundreds and hundreds of plastic for glasses, than to pay ONE TIME to fix the problem. CRAZY CRAZY
We have a health care system that is just way out of control. I hope it gets fixed and that it happens fast.
There now, I have said my piece.

Lori on her way to Canada

My sister (Lori) is on her way to Canada to have Lasik surgery. It is soooo much cheaper for her to go there than to have it in this country. PLUS... they do WAAAAY more of them than our doctors do. That is the best part. They have so much more experience that they are much better at it.

I think the best part of all this is that... SARGE HAS TO GO TO DOGGIE JAIL !!!! he he he
It couldn't happen to a better guy !!! Sarge certainly deserves to go to jail for the way he acts all the time. Mom says I am not allowed to gloat, butt... he he he he he he he he he

I can't wait for Lori to call mom and tell her how the surgery went.

Mom went there (Niagra Falls) 11 years ago to have her eyes done. She is really happy about the job they did for her. HOWEVER, I sometimes think she sees too much. Like when I sneak food into the livingroom. She never misses that. Or when I hide bones or toys in some grrreat places, she always sees them.

We are going to be going to Lori's place in a couple of weeks. I am going to hope that his jail time will make Sarge be nicer to me. Mom says she does not think Jail will reform Sarge though. POOP !

The Boat is clean now

This is a picture of Maverick and his family. They went to the Luau both last year and again this year. They rode on my boat both times. If you look at the carpet you can see some of the sand on my boat. That is just a little bit of it... there was a BUNCH of it. It sticks to wet feet and shoes and then comes off on the boat. This is not a complaint. It is just a fact of life when you have a boat.
Sooooo anyway, after taking all those folks for rides my boat looked more like the beach than a boat. he he he I wanted to get it all swept off before it rained last night. I had mom and dad take the brooms (NOT VACULA, THANK YOU VERY MUCH !) and some cold drinks and we went to the lake to clean the Lady L.
It was 92 degrees when we got there. HOT HOT H O T ! Butt, we went to my favorite shady cove and beached the boat. I got off and did my Salty Dawg work while mom and dad cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. When they finished, I was ready to head for the beach, because I will admit that I was pretty much a muddy mess who needed to cool down and GET CLEAN myself.
When we beached AT THE BEACH (he he he) a man came running up to us to tell us how very much he had enjoyed the Whole Luau, and especially the ride on my boat. He just wanted to thank us AGAIN. Isn't that nice????
So then mom and I got off and I swam and drank and mom washed me up very much clean. Then we just rode around the lake for about an hour while we all cooled down, and I dried off.
Mission accomplished. Boat clean. Everybuddy cooled off. The temp. dropped as a storm was coming. We docked and headed home. Jennifer said the temp. was down to 75 and just as we were pulling into her garage it started to pour down rain. Perfect timing.

HI Everybuddy, I could not stand it any longer. I wanted to tell you about my very much GRRREAT day at the lake. The Luau was wonderful. There were lots and lots of people and dogs there. My friend Maverick got to take his people on my boat !!! Maverick loved it. He sniffed my boat all over then he went and layed down on MY dad's foot and enjoyed the ride.
There was a whole bunch of roast pork. Everyone shared with me.
Our friends who are Gizmo's mom and dad came. Gizmo is very much too little to remember much about the Luau. He is only 10 WEEKS old. He got to ride on my boat TWO times. He loved it. It made him all sleepy.
Our other wonderful friends Mark and Carol and KATLIN (my little girl) came. Katlin helped me across the very much HOT SAND and took me in the water so I could cool off and get a drink !!! They got to take a ride on my boat too. Then Katlin went for a big swim with her dad. I just watched them because they go waaaay out where it is too deep for dachshunds.
There was super cob corn for me to eat. Gizmo was too little to do that, butt guess what??? He shared his food with me.
People kept stopping by our picnic table and talking to Gizmo and me. We were on our very best behavior.
The only bad part was that it was REALLY REALLY REALLY H O T !!!! I couldn't go on the sand at all. It was sooooo hot that mom did not even take any pictures.
My day started out by getting to the lake at 8:30. We took my boat to a shady cove. Mom and dad got all the stuff out and decorated the Lady L until she looked really super duper. While they did that... I went on Salty Dawg Shore Patrol. I dug 4 new holes and then I had to get cleaned up before we shoved off for the beach.
Mom has all these decorations that she puts out in the sand so that the people know where to line up for the boat rides. When she finished that it was boiling hot. So I got in the water and cooled off for a bit then we headed for a picnic table and ate our lunch. People started coming to ask about rides even before we finished. That makes us very much HAPPY because we LOVE to share our lake and the boat with others.
Dad took 4 groups out on the lake. There were two other boats that took people too. We didn't count how many people went on those, butt there were 45 people who got to ride on my boat.
I am sorry to report that we did not see any deer or the eagle. Two cruises did get to see the blue herons though.
When the Luau was over, Mom and dad took Carol, Mark, Katlin, Debbie, Gary, ,and ME for a nice cool refreshing relaxing ride. That was grrrreat.
When everyone left we gathered up all the beach decorations and all of our life vests and went back to our dock. Then Mom and dad took down all the decorations while I gave them advice. We loaded everything in Jennifer and pulled away at 8:15 which was the end of an almost 12 hour day on the lake. You can't beat that for a friend filled fun day.

Can't do it...

I am just too POOPED to tell you about the Luau. I am worn out from all the fun !! Tomorrow I will be more rested.

Writer Group Meeting

I went to my writer group meeting last night. It was grreat. I got to read my story about the word of the month. Everyone LOVED it. I don't know why they laughed though.

One lady named Rita brought the snacks. You won't believe this. She brought pizza that had the best puperoni and cheese on it. AND for dessert... she had ice cream. I was in heaven. Dairy products are very much good for Frankie.

There was a lady there that talked about her children's book. I didn't like the book much. There was a CAT in it and not one single dachshund. What was she thinking????
I liked her though. She was stunned that I was there. I guess she found it hard to believe that a THREE YEAR OLD could be a member of a writers' group.
Today we are going to take a quick run to the lake... just to drop off more gas so that there is plenty for the boat rides tomorrow.
I can't believe it. The LUAU is almost here. Because we have to very much decorate my boat in the morning I won't be able to make my post. I will be too excited to think about it. I will let you know all about it on Sunday... unless I am too tired. he he he

Busy on my hill today

Mom and dad made 14 qts. of stewed tomatoes and got 3 more gallons of green peppers frozen. Then Mom peeled a 5 gallon bucket of S T I N K Y onions. Tomorrow she is going to cut them all up and freeze those. I had to keep giving them advice and help. It kept me pretty busy, butt not so busy that I didn't sneak off and get some super gwalk a moley time for myself.

I thought it was pretty funny that mom had to stop and clean my nose and nails. he he he

My very much grrreat friend Clifford of the Grapes brought us some DELICIOUS corn on the cob. I got to clean up 4 ears after mom and dad finished their supper. I loved it. Mom says Clifford is going to get POINTS for that good stuff.
I just love summer. It cooled off today and was just perfect for all the hard working that we did. I know summer isn't going to last nearly long enough to suit me. I have already noticed that the days are getting shorter. Cat Fart !!!
When we were down the road last night I heard the locusts (cicadas). That means that there are only 8 or 10 weeks until FROST.
Tomorrow night I have to go to my writer group meeting. I will listen to a speaker. I hope she likes me. I have never met this lady. I suppose I will have to be on my very much best behavior. I hope I don't get in trouble about not having anything written for this meeting. I have just been too busy to do any more than my blog for weeks.
I surely do hope that Lee and Arianna get to come to the Luau on Saturday. I want to take them on my boat.

Down the Road

Well, I had mom and dad got to the garden to pick veggies to share with some of the people down the road. We all three got on my 4-wheeler and away we went with a big bucket and a sack full of squash, green peppers, onions, and tomatoes. We stopped first at the end house. They have Jack Russells and they were all excited and would not even play with me. Butt they also had little baby Gizmo. He is just 9 weeks old and only weighs 1 1/2 pounds. He was sooooo tiny that even I scared him. I didn't mean to.
Then we went to where the pipeline builder guys are staying. (Just for a little while while they work in this area.) On camper had 3 schnausers. I did not get to play with any of them either. One is too old and the others are not nice. (So their mom said.) Butt she really liked me. That lady held me and thought I was cute and wonderful. I liked her.
Now all of that is interesting BUTT... you won't believe this one... When we pulled up there, guess who was there???? Yep, you guessed it, Jim the Grinch guy was there taking those people corn and tomatoes. AND he had MY friends Lee and Arianna with him. Lee was playing with the older girl dog. Butt ARIANNA only wanted to play with ME !!!
All in all, it was a really fun exciting evening.
Tomorrow mom is going to make and can stewed tomatoes. I suppose it will take her all day and she won't pay any attention to me. I may just go down under the tree and gwalk moleys all day. It rained last night soooooo I can get as muddy as I want when NOBODY IS WATCHING ! he he he

getting ready for the LUAU

Wowie, where did that whole year go?? It is almost time for another Annual Burr Oak Lake LUAU. I love it. Mom and dad decorate my boat all up. She looks super like that. Well, just for that one afternoon. It wouldn't be good to keep her dressed up the rest of the time.
Mom went with the Ranger Ladies yesterday. I didn't get to go. It was tooooo hot. I don't know what all they bought butt I HOPE there was some cheese in there somewhere.
There will be a pig roast, corn on the cob, and fruit salad. I like all that stuff a lot... butt as you know... cheese is my favorite. I may just have mom pace up some for me JUST IN CASE.
There will be lots of games for kids to play. Mom bought a pineapple. She will have a ring toss game using that.
And that is just the beginning of the fun. Dad takes people for FREE rides on my boat. It is a very much wonderful thing for us to do. Some people have never been out on the lake. They never get to see all of the really pretty places. We always HOPE that at least one "cruise" will bet to see a deer or beaver or loon or great blue heron.... and now !! We can even hope that the Bald Eagle will make an flight for them to see.

So, if you would like to come to the LUAU. Meet me at the Beach 1:00 on Saturday Aug. 15th.. Free Food and Fun.... and some quality time with ME !!!
Pee S. Bring your lawn chairs and cold drinks.

Too HOT to play today

It finally got very much hot today. It was soooo hot we didn't even go to my boat. Well, maybe it was because I was tooo tired after all I did yesterday. I am going to be rested for tomorrow, butt I think mom has to go to the big town to help the Ranger Ladies shop for stuff for the annual Burr Oak LUAU which will be on Saturday. I am going to have my boat there all decorated for people to take rides on. Just like I did last year.
I am still soooo tired that I think I am not making good sense. LOL

Bird day at the lake

WOW !!! I had a super duper day at the lake today. I got to send Salty Dawg off to do his shore patrol work. I (he) got to dig about 10 new holes and even followed some grrreat deer tracks. Then we went to the beach and had our second picnic of the day. When I finished my meat and cheese... I got off and played with two girls and then met two new dogs. I then went swimming with mom. Well... she only goes in up to her knees... I can't touch bottom there sooooo I get to swim while mom washes me all up from my day of fun.

Now to the bird situation. First I saw the LOONS. The are really scary looking because the only part of them that is out of the water is... their HEAD. THEN I saw about 9 blue herons. Next a HAWK flew up and perched in the tree right by my boat. He was really close and looked neat. BUT THE BEST ONE OF ALL WAS... WHEN WE WERE JUST RIDING AROUND FOR FUN... A BALD EAGLE FLEW RIGHT PAST MY BOAT. WOW WOW
We see them in Pennsylvania all the time, butt this is the FIRST ONE WE HAVE EVER SEEN AT OUR LAKE !!!!! We all three were very much excited and happy about that.

Cap'n Frankie

Detective Frankie believes he is on the scent of a BIG DAY OF FUN !
YUP, I am "shore" that a day at the lake in coming !

All righty then, Burr Oak Lake... here I come. Lady L get yourself geared up for a grrrreat time. Everything on my hill is in SHIP SHAPE for a few days. It is time for some Rest and Relaxation (R. & R.) for the my crew and me.

berries and buddies

Lee is looking down the hill (to your left) at the black furry dachshund(ME) who is STILL gwalking a moley.
See TURKEY by Lee's foot??? He was very much careful NOT to squeek it so that his grandpa would be the one that was surprised. he he he

Ari's Berries. I made a poem.
Look what Ari found.

Lee and I down in the dirt. Gwalking my moley !!! Come on Arianna, I'll show you how. Grrrreat fun !!

What a grrrrreat time we had today. Lee & Arianna made their grandpa (the Grinch) bring them back to play with me. We had cookies and Ice Cream. I took them down to gwalk my moley. Lee was really good at that. Then we went to my garden. On the way Arianna stopped and found 4 big juicy ripe RED RASPBERRIES !!! Then we came back and we hid a "turkey" on the Grinch's 4-wheeler. he he he I am kind of getting into this TURKEY THINGY. Everyone laughed when the Grinch stepped on the turkey and it squeeked !! I wagged my tail, of course. Lee and Arianna liked playing the TURKEY TRICK on their grandpa. he he he he he

Pee S. Today is laundry day on my hill. Turkey is hiding in dad's folded clothes. he he he
I can't wait until he finds it. It was a TWO TURKEY day.
It was sooooo much fun for me. I don't know why they left so soon. I hadn't even finished gwalking my moley when they left.
I surely do wish I had some kids of my own. Maybe if I go back and take more classes and study hard and Graduate AGAIN... mom will get me some. I think I'll ask her about that.
For now, though I will just be pretty happy with Ari and Lee.

Two of my friends

These are what mom and dad and Lori and Stan call TURKEY. They play this silly game with Turkey. I don't understand it, butt it seems to make them all very much happy because they always LAUGH and LAUGH when they "find" a TURKEY. One time mom and Lori hung two TURKEY things up when dad and Stan were away fishing. When they came home they found TURKEY hanging up where they would touch the windshield of the truck.
This is what Lori brought (and sneaked outside and hung up at 6 in the morning) to surprise mom and dad. Mom just LOVES (seriously) Loves LOVES what she now calls the TURKEY MOBILE. When the wind blows they all swing and go around and around. That gets EVERYONE all excited and they Laugh like a hound dog with a treed coon. The whole thing just leaves me AMAZED. I mean really, all that fuss over a squeaky turkey toy.

These are SHOES. They belong to my friends. They came to visit me the other day (and they saw the Turkey thingy, too). I like both pairs of shoes BUTT... ONE PAIR IS SUPER DUPER. Can you guess which one???

These are my friends (the ones with the shoes). We are sitting on my porch swing.

Don't you think we are three of the CUTEST THINGS you have EVER seen????
I am on the left side, Lee is in the middle, and Arianna is on the right side. The best part is... they do NOT act like their grandpa (or their uncle). he he he I hope they come back to see me again Very Much SOON. I want to teach them how to gwalk moleys. I think they would Love doing that. he he he

I had a very much BIG horse in my yard on Friday night and again on Saturday night. Because it was waaaay late at night I did not have to go out and chase it away. I am pretty glad about that since it was REALLY big. Butt guess what... it made poops in my yard both nights. I do not go near that stuff. Mom is really excited because she wants to put it in MY garden. HERE WE GO WITH THAT CRAP AGAIN. I just do not understand her sometimes.

Anyway, the horses live down the road. Their fields are past where my apple tree is. I am NEVER allowed to go beyond the apple tree. I don't think the horses are supposed to come on my side of the tree, butt I don't know this for sure. I don't think they are allowed to break down their fence like that and run up here and eat my grass. I wonder if they will get grounded for being bad? None of the horses have come back, soooo I guess they must have.
I was busy as a cat on a hot tin roof today. I had to do all the yard and garden and porch work all by myself. Mom and dad were busy canning tomato juice. I guess it will be like that tomorrow, too because mom is going to cook and freeze corn and dad is going to mow. HO HUM ! A dachshund's work is never done.

GRRRRRRR

I was soooo bad when Sarge had his birthday. he he he he He got these snacks that said Sargent's Tastee Burgers. I grabbed one bag and ripped them open and started eating them very much speedy quick. he he he he I loved it.

Then Sarge tried to bring his very much big stick up onto my porch but it wouldn't fit through my in and out ramp hole. I loved it. It was soooo very much funny.

I included a picture of me on my swing after they left.

I also gave you a pic of me in my crib/cage. That is where I love to stay when H E is at my house. HE can't get me or any of my stuff. Then I mock him every time he goes by. GRRRReat dog fun.

I have not been able to get on and do my blog for... DAYS ... because MOM has been too very much busy doing garden stuff like tomato juice and stuff. She didn't even have time to get my YapStop down for me. Tomorrow she will have to do MORE juice soooo I don't know if she will help me get this down again or not. She can be such a cat fart sometimes.

I have tons more to tell you... like the HORSE that was in my yard and my friends Lee and Arianna coming to see me and the TURKEY thing. I guess you will just have to do what mom tells me.... cool your jets Bud. I'll get you all caught up as soon as I can.

Gotta go now... it is time for me to gwalk my moley. Talk with you soon.
