Today Sarge comes to my house

See, now this is what I'm talking about. Look how sweet and loving and INNOCENT Sarge can look. That is all just a trick. He is really very much mean and nasty and GUILTY. Mostly though, he is NOT a DACHSHUND.
And he is coming to stay the weekend. He will eat my food and drink my water and play with my toys and want to gwalk my moleys and dig in my yard and and and pee and poop in MY favorite places.
I love to see my "sister" Lori, butt... I sometimes wonder if it is worth it though.
Then there is the whole birthday thingy. It will be Lori and Stan's birthday, so mom decided last year to just celebrate Sarge's birthday at this time, too. Sooo he is going to get presents and I am not. He will just brag and boast and make fun of me. I know he got some grrrreat snacks and I KNOW he will be selfish and not share them with me. He is such a pile of cat crap.
I just hope that mom and dad don't forget to put my play pen/cage up for me. I can fill it with some of my best stuff and then get in there and Sarge can't get close. I love that thing. I had better go and remind them to get it out and all set up.
How many days are in a weekend????

Lee & Arianna came to see me

I had some very grrreat company yesterday. My friend FawnTell's grandkids stopped here with their mom Lisa. Lisa SAID that it was so that she could deliver mom's TOUGHERWARE genuine plastic designer glasses. BUTT I know it was just so Lee and Arianna could play with me.

We sat in the swing and I let them pet me and rub my tummy. I TICKLED them with my long soft fur. That was fun. Then we went out in the yard and looked at my fenced in safe area. I really wanted to take them down to the big tree so we could gwalk some moleys and then go to the garden to hunt for rabbits and chipmunks and stuff. We couldn't do that stuff though because it was just tooo wet from all that rain. Darn it.

I hope that they come back on a dry day. That would be grrrreat. We would play and play and play.

When it was almost dark I had dad take me down the road on the 4-wheeler. We went to Jim the Grinch Guy's garage so he would know that his grandkids had been to see ME. I know that the Grinch was really really GREEN because he was jealous that I got to play with Arianna and Lee. HE HE HE

Maybe next time they come... FawnTell will come too. I know she would like to play with me and have me sit on her lap.

I did get some bad news last night. I found out that the JUNIOR Grinch's house is going to start to be built today. He and my super great friend Bonnie are going to move to my road when the house is finished. I will LOVE having Bonnie here.... BUTT .... I just don't know how I am going to deal with having BOTH of the Grinchs' on this road. I shiver just thinking about it.

I wonder about things

Sometimes I think about things. I don't always get the answers to these things. I just wonder about it.

Why does it have to thunder. It scares me. I don't like it. Thunder doesn't make the rain come down. It is useless. Can't someone invent something that prevents thunder???

I also wonder why it gets MUDDY and makes a mess on my feet. I don't understand why dirt becomes mud when it rains. Dirt is gooooood for the garden. It is NOT good for the floors and hairy paws. I think someone should invent a way to keep the dirt damp without sticking to feet.

Why does it need to rain in the day time??? It would be better if it only rained at night (without thunder) so kids and dogs could play outside during the daytime. Someone should invent something to hold the rain until after dark.

These are just some of the things I wonder about.

Fun at the lake

I really had a grrreat time at the lake yesterday. I got to be Salty Dawg in about 5 different locations. They all had grrreat stuff to sniff and dig. I only stopped long enough to eat my cheese and when we moved to a new place.
I did find some really super grrreat stuff. One was a huge big stick that had been buried for... well longer than I have been alive. It was really exciting. I ran back to the boat and called and called for dad to come and see it. He was a little slow in moving, butt he finally got off and followed me. He was very much impressed with my digging and finding skill. As well he should be.
Mom swabbed the deck. Well, not really swabbed it. She gets down and "sweeps" it with a brush and then when she finished that she washed everything all up. I didn't know why she was doing all of that until we got home and I heard her talking with dad. That is when I learned the really bad stuff...
We are going have company over the weekend. Lori is coming from Pennsylvania. It will be her birthday and we are having a party. Well, it won't be much of a party for ME, because SHE IS GOING TO BRING THAT S A R G E with her. Cat Crap !!!

Salty Dwag

Oh boy, I got a bit surprise this morning. I didn't think I would get to go to my lake this week, butt... when I got up mom and dad were getting things ready.
It is warm and sunny today...so far... so I know that I will have a grrrreat time working on my(Salty Dawg's) treasure hunting.
Gotta go... I need to make sure that my cheese gets packed in the cooler.

Anchors away.

my day at the Lake

Hi everybuddy,

Yesterday I packed up Cap'n Frankie and Salty Dawg and away we all went to the lake. It was a PERFECT weather day. Cool, slight breezes, and sunny. Cap'n Frankie saw a good spot to beach the boat and then ordered Salty Dawg off to start his patrol.

Salty Dawg went on the hunt of woodland treasures. He dug and dug and did not find one single thing worth keeping. So after The Cap'n had his lunch (cheese) he ordered us to move to another cove. Salty Dawg worked there also. No Treasure found.

Then we went to a third cove and Salty Dawg went on another mission. He did a full patrol of that beach and then went into the woods to resume his excavations. You would never believe how much he dug and how hard he workded. He was sooooo excited at all three locations. Sure that he would come up with a munk or mole or some other wonder of nature. It didn't happen.

Here is what Cap'n Frankie thinks. He now believes that he needs to employ Detective Frankie to sniff out a good MAP that will direct the ship and crew to where there is a buried treasure.

Even though no treasure was unearthed... a bad day on the lake beats the fleas off a good day anywhere else.

Friday Fun

I think that I will be able to make it to the lake today. It isn't raining. In fact there is some sunshine this morning.

My ladies... Ruby and Penny just celebrated their first BLOGAVERSARY. They are going to be doing this neat thing that they call Paw it forward. They will be giving or doing something for others and they are asking all their readers to do the same. I think I am going to give some of my very good veggies to the neighbors who do not have gardens. Those wimmen of mine are just grrrreat citizens.

more poopie weather

Gee I am tired of cold and rainy days. I think I am going to order some sunshine for tomorrow. Then I will make mom and dad take me to my boat.

I just got this neat new Salty Dog pic. from my friend Barney. Barney lives with his mum in Australia. It is Barney's winter time now. He doesn't like this cold stuff either.
I think I look pretty darned handsome and very official. Thanks Barney and Barb.

PAWsome fog

Wow ! When I got up this morning I couldn't even see stuff in my garden because of the fog. It was kind of scary for me.

Mom says she doesn't know how we can have fog when we have had no rain. I don't understand all this stuff butt I do know that it is strange.

Almost as strange as the Grinch Guy. He came up here yesterday. He behaved himself as best he ever can. That means that he only pestered mom a little bit. Something about her getting a speeding ticket. Then he told about how he teased poor FawnTell by sneaking up on her and making her jump. I just don't know how that nice lady puts up with him.

If the foggy stuff ever goes away... I am going to make mom and dad go in the garden and pull weeds. I think it is looking pretty sad in there again. I am going to dig some holes. That way IF IT EVER DOES RAIN... they will fill up and hold some water for my thirsty plants.

I really wanted to go to my boat, butt it is just too cold to be out on the water. Maybe on Thursday.

Now I think I just might get back into my cliner chair and have a little nap. he he he

Cold weather

I love summer. I don't like it when it is TOO hot, butt gee whiz it has been cold here for the last few days. That doesn't see right. Mom says she wants to know what has happened to this thing that "they" call Global Warming. It isn't even humid. So far this summer we have only had the AC on 3 times.

Of course, it does make it a lot easier for me to do my hard work. Like last night when I went down below my maple tree and Gwalked my moley. I was able to dig a big hole and hardly ever had to stop working to cool down. I wish that my new friend Teresa could have been here to see it. I am quite proud of my job.

Dad said that he was going to have to take a shovel down there before he gets John the Deer
out again. That is what he calls his mower thing. he he he

That saves a lot of plastic on the electric bill, butt it is not normal.

The Grinch's Sister

Here are some of the pictures mom took at Dawes Arboretum with her (our) photo club. These were all taken in the section called the Japanese Garden. As you can see, I took dad along. Most of the time I let him off his leash so he could wander around a bit. He behaved pretty well, all things considered. Those are his feet on the Rock Walk with me. It was such a pretty place. I liked it a lot.
Yesterday I had some very much grrreat company. It was Teresa who is Jim the Grinch Guy's SISTER. She had read in my blog that the Grinch was away on vacation with my FawnTell. SOOOO Teresa took the chance and came to see me. She would not want to come on this road if the Grinch was home because... I THINK SHE WOULD BE AFRAID TO GO PAST HIS HOUSE WHERE HE MIGHT RUN OUT AND GRAB HER!!!
Teresa was afraid to stay too long and that meant that I couldn't show her all my very much grreat stuff. I had already GWALKED MY MOLEY so I couldn't take her down there to see that. I tried to find a chipmunk in my garden for her butt they were all scared away because I had already had mom and dad out there picking MEAN BEANS. I feel like I wasn't able to make her visit a real good one.
Well, at least she GOT TO SEE ME !!! I am sure that just made her day.
This Teresa lady is very much nice. She doesn't seem to have been damaged by living with the Grinch during her puppyhood. I am really glad about that.
Butt now I have to tell about how sneaky the Grinch Guy really is... he came home EARLY and caught Teresa as she was going down the road (which is just what she was afraid would happen). AND THEN... he came up here and BRAGGED about it !!!
Poor Teresa, Such a wonderful visit with ME... spoiled by .... YOU KNOW WHO !!!

Photo club Fun

I went to that very much pretty place last night and I got to run and play and people took my picture while I was having a grrrreat time. Mom took tons of snaps of me. I love to have my picture taken. My friend Rocky called the camera a FLASHY BEAST. I am not afraid of it though. Not like Vacula or the dish licker thing.

I was right about not being allowed to take any pictures. Mom kept the camera around her neck like a collar. She can be a real butt scooter some times.

After the meeting mom and dad and my friend Paul all wanted to stop for food. It was Mexican. They had outdoor tables sooooo I got to eat with them. I don't know how to talk those Mexican words so I can't tell you what it was that I ate, butt it was good. There was cheese on it.

By the time we got Jennifer back in her room it was very much LATE for me. It was already time for me to make my last pee before going to bed. I was really tired after being cute all evening. I could hardly wait to get to bed.

I'm late today

Hi everybody,
I had to have mom and dad water the garden this morning. That takes them a long time. I let them do it before it gets too hot. It is easier for them that way. Then they have to take showers... enough said about that....
Now I am having mom fry eggs and slice tomatoes so that they can have their lunch. Of course, I am going to have CHEESE for my lunch.
Then we are all going to rest BECLAWS... tonight I have been specially invited to go to the photography club meeting. I have never done that before. We are going to this place that mom says is beautiful. They have grrreat flower gardens and ponds and all stuff like that.
I just know that mom is not going to let me get my paws on the camera though. She is still upset with me over those pictures I took .... a very long time ago. She has a memory like an elephant.
I also have some really grrreat news.... I don't have to worry about a sneaky GRINCH GUY attack for several days!!! He is taking MY FawnTell and going to AMISH COUNTRY for a vacation. I think I am the one getting the vacation. I won't have to be on constant alert for one of his nasty little tricks.
I'll let you know how the thingy goes tonight. Maybe I can talk someone else into letting me snap a few... puppy poses. he he he

Cap'n Frankie

I spent all day yesterday on my boat... The Lady L. I love my boat. Mom and dad bought her for me when I graduated from my first class at my "school". I graduated two other times, butt they didn't buy me anything else. I don't know why. I keep the Lady L on Burr Oak Lake. It is a very much grrrreat place. There are trees and birds and all kinds of animals all around it. That is the stuff that I really love. When we are on the boat I make mom and dad call me CAP'N FRANKIE. When we beach her so that I can go ashore, I want to be called SALTY DAWG because then I am on shore patrol. That is some grrreat stuff, let me tell you. I get to go insniffigating the shore and playing in the water.
Yesterday I had my crew drop anchor at my very favorite cove. That is where there is a really big area for me to insniffigate. You won't believe what I found. There were two new chipmunk holes !!!! Sooooo Salty Dawg had to go to work BIG TIME.
I worked and worked and worked. I only stopped long enough to eat my lunch which included cheese. When mom and dad said I had to come back on board... mom had to take me out into the water and wash and wash and wash me. AND MY HOLE WAS HUGE !!!! You should see what a beauty it is. I could get clear down inside and none of me was hanging over the edges!! AND it was really deep. What a grrreat time. It is the biggest hole I have EVER made.
Then we went to talk to the Ranger. His name is Ranger Frost (no kidding), and he is such a nice man. I let him pet me and everything. He said that he has seen ME and my boat and crew lots of times, butt this is the first time that he had gotten to actually meet me. He was very much impressed with what a super Cap'n I am. He knows that I always make the crew follow the rules of the lake.
When we got home I had mom and dad go check on the garden. There were acorn squash to pick and LOTS of green beans sooooo Jennifer and Kevin (the kid we never had) and Arianna (one of my little girls) came and we all picked beans for them. I showed Arianna how to make beans stick to to me, and then she stuck some on her shirt. It was really fun. I even let her sit in my swing with me when we finished. A grrrreat end to a wonderful day. I guess my Treat Jar was full.

Treat Jar...

Today I am going to play the Treat Jar Game that Trix told me about. I had to give this some thought. You are supposed to think of 5 things that you would like to have in YOUR treat jar. So I had to put on my Detective Frankie thinking cap. Here are the 5 things I came up with.

1. Grrreat health for everyone.

2. No fighting or biting (except for ground moles and chipmunks).

3. For the economy to get back to normal, so that everyone has what they need.

4. Friends. Lots and lots of friends for everyone. Family too, of course.

5. Grrreat weather all year around.

If we had this stuff in everyone's treat jar life would be just wonderful. Thanks Trix for giving me this grrrreat game to play. I hope that others play it too.

My Story for Writer's Groups

Today I am letting you read what I wrote for my writers' group meeting. That was last Thursday. I took the snacks. CHEESE !!!!

PERFIDY….. by Frankie Furter Price

This is a very much big word and I am not allowed to use the dictionary book because I don’t have thumbs, and I turn the pages too hard, and mom really hates it when I turn them with my tongue. Soooo, I just had to try and think what it might mean.
Here is my story.....
Dachshunds are the very most wonderful dogs in the world. They are brave, strong, beautiful (no… handsome), and very much the smartest dog of all.
If it weren’t for dachshunds there would be no good things in the world, like central heating and cooling, toys, chew bones, and soft beds.
All of the other kinds of dogs know that dachshunds are the kings and queens and presidents of all the K-9 world. They just don’t measure up to us.
If you don’t believe all of this …. It is PERFIDY okay by me. This is my story and it was written perfidy.

Today I am going to make mom and dad work in the garden. There are lots of things that need to be picked today and it is not going to be very much hot. I am also going to the thicket. I found a new chipmunk hole yesterday. I have to get that dug into.... again. he he he Big Fun for Frankie.

One tired boy !

Wow! Yesterday I did not even get to make my blog post ! Mom got me up Before Breakfast!!! I didn't know why until she called me Cap'n Frankie. Then I knew it was going to be a very much long fun day at the lake.
We went early and stayed late. I had my first mate take us to my favorite shady cove and beach my boat. There is this grrreat little creek there and lots of shore and then the nice big shady wooded valley for me.
After lunch. Cheese for me, thank you very much. I took some time to do my captain work. Stuff like charts and plans and thinking about things (A.K.A. NAP TIME). Then I ordered Salty Dawg (who is also me, he he he) to go ashore and do his patrol work. Wowser Bowser was it ever a super time. I (Salty Dawg) found this super duper hole that a chipmunk was living in. Salty Dawg went after it like an escaped prisoner. I (he) dug and dug and dug and made a very much huge trench. It was just grrrreat, I tell you. Salty Dawg was observing things, (napping in the trench) when mom went and ruined all my (his) fun. She took me out into the lake and Washed off all the good stuff. Can you believe that. I was pretty peed off at her. Then she made me get back on board and CLOSED THE GANG PLANK.
After I got all dried off I went back to being Cap'n Frankie again. I ordered the anchors to be hoisted and we went on a cruise for 2 hours. It was grrrreat to have the lake air in my fur. When I was sure that the whole lake had been patrolled, I allowed my crew to take my boat to the dock. Just in time too. It started to sprinkle.
It was a fab day for a dachshund.
I have been soooo busy that I have not even had a chance to tell you about my Write Away Writers group meeting on THURSDAY night. I took the snacks... cheese of course. Our writing assignment was to use this word in a story.... PERFIDY..... I wrote a grrreat thing and I hope to be able to post it Tomorrow for you to read.
I thought today was going to be a resting day for me. W R O N G ..... SHE... got me up before breakfast AGAIN today. I thought... Oh great dachshunds I am going to the lake again today. WRONG. NOPE. NOT. You will very much not believe this one. She got me up that early and MADE ME GO TO THE GARDEN TO DO MORE HARD WORK AND PICK MORE MEAN BEANS !!! CAT FARTS I am just exhausted. I had to pick and work until she had 2 huge buckets of those things. Enough for her to can another 7 quarts. I tried to eat a whole bunch of them. I could only get about 6 of them down though. Garden work is very demanding.
Now we have had lunch and the canner thing is cooling down. I am going to NAP. See you later.

Garden goodies

I didn't even want to get out of bed this morning. I am very much tired from all the hard work yesterday. It started with picking beans. I don't like those things much. I love to eat them raw right off the plants, butt I am not supposed t pick my own. I do though. When mom isn't looking. he he he. What I don't like is that those green bean plants and the beans themselves CLING TO MY FUR !!! Soooo, I call them MEAN BEANS. Sometimes there are so many of them sticking to me that I can hardly run down the rows of the garden. Then I have to go to mom and show her. She has to work and work and work to get them UNSTUCK from my fur. Mom laughs at me. I don't like that one little bit. She even goes so far as to act stupid and "hang" beans on her shirt saying that she looks like me !!! It pees me off when she does that.
Mom and dad picked 9 quarts of beans and she put them in jars so that we can eat them when the snow and ice come back.
Then we went back in the garden and watered it. I liked that part a lot because the hose was out. It is soooo COOL to play in. he he
And we even used the tiller which is a big noisy digger thing. I don't think we need to do that beclaws I already dig in there and don't have to make all that noise when I do it. GEE.
The best part is for me to go through the plants and hide. It is really fun. Going under the acorn squash vines is the best ever. The mean beans, not so much. I do wish that my friends Ruby and Penny and Oscar and Tink and Tucker and Woodie and Rocky could all have been with me.

clean up day on my hill

Last evening my mom and I worked in the flower beds for 4 hours. We also picked some green beans. I got to do a lot of the work. I even chased a HUGE black dog right out of my yard. I scared it very much !!! Mom said that I was really brave and that I kept her safe while she was pulling weeds. Yea for me.

Today we got up very much early because we are going to work in the garden!!! I get to help pick MORE green beans so mom will be able to can them. THEN I get to help dad while he WATERS the garden. I love to do that because he will let me play in the hose !!!! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE summer.

Home again, Home again, YEA

Hi everyone,
It was awful, butt I managed to survive it. I made it back to my very much grrreat home. It was cold and rainy and ... Sarge was there. It was so rainy that I did not even get to stay at my friend Woodie's store long enough to visit with him. Woodie was there, butt he was very much busy doing his work in his office. I suppose he was doing paperwork and making decisions.

My dad went fishing some, butt he did not catch any of them.
He did see something very much grrreat though. In the town of Franklin there was a bear that walked right through the town and then it climbed up a tree in someone's yard!!! Dad said that it was a very much BIG bear. There were a lot of people around watching it. I am glad that I stayed at the house with mom and Lori (and Sarge). I think I would have been afraid of the bear.
Last night I had to chase a rabbit out of my garden. I really scared it. I did not hurt it though. That would be a bad thing. I just tried to teach it a lesson. STAY OUT OF THE GARDEN.

Today I am going to do some resting and then a bit of garden work. I think I will be wanting to go to my lake tomorrow or the next day. I need to be sure that everything is under control there, you know.

I guess I don't have any friends on this road

Gee, I thought I had freinds up here on this road that would talk to FawnTell for me. NOT.

I thought FawnTell would like me enough to protect me from this horrible trial that I am not facing. NOT.

I guess that I am going to have to go to Pennsylvania tomorrow.
I guess that I am going to have to face up to that bully Sarge.
I guess that I am going to have to ride in Jennifer Jeep.
I guess that I am going to have to abandon my blog for .... I don't even know how long.
I guess that I am going to have to let weeds overtake my garden.
I guess that I am going to have to abandon my yard to the ravages of moles and chipmunks.
I guess that I am going to have to live without my toys and bones and other stuff.
I guess that I am going to have to say butt scoot fart pee poop and crap

I hope to be back to you by the 7th. IF I survive this ordeal.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY. THANK A VET FOR KEEPING US SAFE.
