Givin' the KID a break today..

FURST.....   today is Madi's MOM's Birfday...     We are writing this in her FAVORITE Color.

WELL,   Ernie is STILL in TROUBLE over what he did to his Roxy Foxy...   (aka a Tailectomy)
SO I thought I would give him a BREAK today... and tell you about what we had to Eat fur the NEW YEAR Kick Off..
In the Great Lakes Region of the U.S.A.... it is a TRADITION to ALWAYS have SOUR Kraut...
That is beclaws this area has a Big GERMAN influence.
Peeps around these Pawts think eating SOUR Kraut brings GOOD LUCK and WEALTH in the New Year...
We don't know if it is TRUE or just a Peeplike Urban Legend...   butt we (BEING GERMAN) don't want to take any CHANCES...
SO Here is what Mom Cookered up...
SOUR Kraut  with Little Tube Steaks and a big chunk of Pork Tenderloin... and   See that DARK Colored Meats????    THAT is a big section of DEER Tenderloin...
Mom put everythingy all together and then cookered it in the CROCK POT... until the Pork was Tender...  and the Deers Meat was nearly Falling apawt...  beclaws It was SOOOOOO tender.

While THAT was cookering up...   she opened 3 Jars of her CANNED POTATOES... and heated them until WAY hot... so they would MELT the mix of Margarine, REAL BUTTER, Roasted Garlic, and a bit of Salt...  and mixered those all up...   until creamy...
Peeps like to put a GLOB of the potatoes down... and then
COVER THAT ALL OVER with the SOUR Kraut and Meats... and then  CHOW DOWN...
We don't know WHY butt WE didn't get ANY of the Potatoes... butt we DID get some of the Little Tube Steaks and the Pork, and the DEERs MEAT... with some SOUR kraut over top...    it was really YUMMY...
ERNIE doesn't think that it brought HIM any Good Luck though... since it was January 2nd. when he...    REMOVED the end of Roxy Foxy's TAIL...          In FACT he is sort of SCARED that the END is Coming...     Just sayin.

Sauerkraut makes one toot, so stay away from that stuff! Mom lived in Germany for ten years, but doesn't like sauerkraut at all. I lived there most of my first year of life and found the meat superb! Enjoy!

I'm an Indian Ringneck parrot so I had really smoking hot sunflower seed curry for new year. The peeps didn't want any part of it. Want me to send you the recipe?

Yummy - Dad is Swedish and German, and he LOVES Sauerkraut. Mom will have to make him some of that.

Hope you aren't in the dog house with Roxy - I think the phrase is "attention to detail" and NOT "A Tension to de tail"

No taters? That doesn't seem very fair to us! Oh and about Ernie thinking the world is coming to an end our mom thinks the same thing but for a different reason.

SHE ate the traditional one small mince pie for each of the 12 days of Christmas for 12 months of good luck. Don't know that it helped HER! And we didn't get anything. BAH! Pharter you better lay off the cabbage...SHE says SHE loves it, but can't be around anyone for awhile. If you get our drift.

We think we would love the pork and the litttle weeners, but not so sure about the sauerkraut - we have never had that! But if you say it is good, then it must be.

We cook pork roast in sauerkraut in the crock pot. Delicious! There hasn't been venison in this house since ghostwriter hit a deer on the road some twenty years ago!

Can we come to dinner next time? That looks amazing!

What a shame about Foxy Roxy though. But you know what, I guess it was because you didn't get any of the potatoes. If you had had those, there would not have been a problem! I am sure of it. So, I think you can blame your Mum!

Here on the bayou we eat cabbage, black-eyed peas, and ham on New Year's Day. It is also for money, good luck and happiness. We are ready for it to kick in too. Poor Ernie, I'm sure Foxy Roxy will be fine. ♥

That's funny, Momma's family is German, and we've never heard of that tradition! Down here in the South, our tradition is to eat black-eyed peas for luck on New Year's Day.
