Remember the other day when we posted the pic of the Baltimore Oriole Feeder that Dad Made?
He used a container that "RACKET" Balls come in.... and cut a place out fur the Grape Jelly to go in...
BUTT there were two problems... Furst they are attracted to RED not Blue and second ... he furgot to put PERCHES on the piece of Plywood ... Now we really want you to notice how FAR away the TREE is... beclaws in the next pictures the camera plays a TRICK with it....
Mom took the thingy down and Slathered RED PAINT on the lid and Jar and the board and the PERCHES that dad finally put on... and ....
WAH LA... we got a Male Oriole to come and eat... Mom had to take the picture THROUGH the frond Door Screen.... so it looks a Little Funny... Butt the best pawt is that the camera REALLY ZOOMIED in on the TREE that is clear out by the street... and made it LOOK like the feeder is hanging IN the tree..
You can see some of the red paint that SHE smeared around on the feeder... as soon as that was done... we started to have visits from the Orioles... They HAD been TRYING to get stuffs outta the HUMMING BIRD FEEDER up until THEN. Silly Birds... they need to take some lessons from Kismet... She would NEVER do such a whacky thingy.
The Feeder is ACTUALLY hanging on the Front Porch..
WE think the Orioles are REALLY pretty BRIGHT ORANGE fur the Guys and lighter fur the Ladies.. Butt they are all very skittery... so that is why you have to look at them THROUGH the Screen...

That is FABULOUS fotografia from the mamamia!!! What a handsome birdie... I miss seeing colourful birdies... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Oh that's just beautiful! How clever your mama and dad are to use jelly to get a good look and great photos! Eventually maybe they'll be less skittish for you!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh we love the Oriole photos and the fantastic feeder your Dad constructed.
As far as we know mom has never seen an Oriole in the feathers but she would love to see one.
WE would probably have a huge ant problem if we put out jelly. Mom has to used an ant mote to keep them out of the humming bird food.
Hugs madi your bfff
PS Mom is looking forward to meeting you all soon
that was a brilliant idea your mama had!!! if my mama has an idea with paint it mostly ends in a disaster... probably she can learn a lot from your mom! I love this beautiful birds... and now you have your own windows-tv!!!

how cool was that - what a wonderful thing to be able to see outside your window
We are used to seeing blue Orioles but those orange ones are gorgeous!!! Hope you get to see lots more feeding there.
Woos - Ciara and Lightning
I'd never do such a thing. I fly over town looking for human picnics-much better food to steal than in hummingbird feeders-too sweet..
At least you've got an oriole to visit you! Maybe he'll get more brave as time goes on.
Those are gorgeous. Ants would have a field day if I hung jelly up outdoors. They already try to drink my hummingbird water. Do you have a problem with them?
Bwahaahaa! It does look like the feeder is IN the tree!
Wow, they are very pretty! That was nice of your people to put up something to make them come close for you to watch!
That is so cool! Our mom LOVES Orioles!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
