NOW back to the Educational Adventure that Cussin Francine
We learned that there is a MUSEUM for Pottery that was made in our area... and it is located Right near the town of Crooksville where our angel Uncle Doug was MAYOR... AND guess WHAT.... our DAD used to WORK at that museum... he mowed the grass and Fixed thingy and stuffs like that.
One of the guys who was a Resident Potter... is STILL furends with Mom and Dad... Butt that guy now lives in California.
Every year there is a POTTERY FESTIVAL in the towns of Crooksville and Roseville... and this year will be the 50th time fur the Festival.
We also learned that MOST of the Potteries have now CLOSED... No more Weller JB Owens Roseville Brush McCoy and Hull. JUST to Mention a FEW.
Here we are looking at some examples of thingys that are now being THROWN by the potters of TODAY.
THis is a Pretend Kitchen that shows that CERAMICS/POTTERY is STILL used fur. Working with clay.... has been around fur THOUSANDS of years... it is even mentioned in the Bible. One of the OLDEST Pawfessions.
We guess that this adventure wasn't TOO bad. Butt Ernie STILL says that Cussin Francine is a CRACK POT. BaaaaaaWaaaaah.

What a fun trip that was. We think throwing clay would be soooo much fun. I could throw it at Muffin all day long :)

Happy Mardi Gras to you all. Sadly the area which are called The Potteries have the same problem. Stoke On Trent is nothing like it use to be and most have closed down as well. Such a shame. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
We would love to get our paws into that!

Wow now that looked like so much fun! Cocco's snout would have so much fun shaping that clay :-)
Pots are very important you know Frankie. For holding food and stuff.

it is sad there are not many real potteries left - everything is now pre made ceramics that people jut paint - it is not quite the same though. happy Mardi Gras day
Did you know my mom loves old pottery and wooden bowls...but hers says since wesa came to live wif her, she hasn't bought any...whatever the heck that means. That was a great story wif your parents in New Orleans, what a great experience.

Happy Mardi Gras to you! I loved to read your posts! Sadly our potteries are closed too, that's sad I think. A handmade bowl would be much better than the common thingies we can buy in the stores.
It is a dying profession, so sad. Butt maybe you guys can bring it back!
What a splendid memory of Mardi Gras to dine at the biggest celebration!
My Mom left me some lovely old Hull and also Roseville pots. Wish there were more, the price is good on them today. (No, I am not selling!)
Cheers and hugs,
Jo, Stella and Zkhat

We love your adventures with your "cousins".

In those photos you look like you're straight out of a Harry Potter book :)
Happy Mardi Gras!!!
Guess what boys, it was at that very Museum, way back in 2005 that my Mum first met Your Mom. My Mum even got to be a judge of the baby section at the Pottery thingy in the Park, then your Mom bought me a HUGE lemon drink that had a whole lemon it it. Was such a happy time for my Mom, she even got to meet your smooth skin Dashies before they crossed the bridge. Her first visit to your "HILL".
A "crack pot". Ha roo roo roo! Oh, you guys slay me!
Play bows,
Zim
It's such a shame that potters are a dying art. They do such beautiful work! Happy Mardi Gras!
Love ya lots♥

That looks like such a fun place to check out! In the town near where we live there is a small pottery place, and in NJ there is a small artist's village/school of craft there. Momma knows of these places, but hasn't ever checked them out for herself. Maybe this summer...
Happy Mardi Gras! Our mom has a furiend dat does dat pottery stuff and mom has a few pieces dat her made. :)
