more PA fun

This is hard to read butt it talked about Samuel Van Syckle who actually "invented" the first pipeline to transport oil from the Titusville area to where there was a refinery. Up until then they took it out in barrels on horse drawn wagons. They would take the wagons to the Allegheny River and then put on barges headed to a refinery.
This is the exact spot where the world's FIRST oil well was drilled. That was 150 years ago.

Another picture of the train I rode on. Notice that it says Oil Creek & Titusville. They are in the heart of "the valley that changed the world".

I like this one. It is the actual Last Mobile Post Office in the U.S.A.. I wonder if the post cards have arrived down there in GRINCHVILLE yet????

These are signs from different Railroad Lines. Do you see any that you can remember?
After we left the train station we went to the town park. They had the Traveling Viet Nam Wall there last weekend.
I was not allowed to go into the area where that was. I stayed in the shady park with my new friend named Roger. Roger sat with me in the cool grass while everyone else went to see the WALL. It made my mom very upset and unhappy so she came out early. She said that she couldn't get close to the one in Washington D.C. when she was there, she thought maybe since this one is a little smaller... Nope. Too much sadness. She felt better when she got back to where Roger and I were waiting. Mom gets all emotional. When she and dad went to N.Y. City, she could not look at that Ground Zero area either.

For my sweet furend, Twix.
You asked why Lori couldn't have Lasik. Her Corneas are too thin to do the surgery safely.
Now about that Green Monster down the road at the Grinch's place... I am soooo very much embarrassed... I didn't know. It is Not a dachshund jail and it is not full of Grinch Eggs. It IS full of... well, stuff that I leave out in the yard. Someone told me that it will go away when Jr. Grinch's house is all built. Wheeeew. I am just "relieved" that it wasn't that jail or nest.

Hi Frankie
Thanks for sharing the interesting history of Tutusville. Sounds like a great place to visit.
Mom gets emotional at those places too.
Have a great weekend.
