Fish Hatchery...

So LAST Saturday....  we took our mom and dad and Sarge's Peeps... to the Linesville Fish Hatchery...
THESE are the most EXCITING and Delicious Pictures... they came at the END of the tour... where Rangers were showing how to FILET Fish... and then   COOKER them UP...    THIS was CRAPPIE.... butt that is the kind of Fish... Not at all how it TASTED....
We were going NUTS fur it...

 MORE DAD....  FASTER...
 Don't break them TOO small...
OKAY   this is one of the Fish that they got Eggs from...
 These are the Eggs...
Then they bring the Daddy fish and ....
he gets Squeezed/Milked over the eggs...
THEN.... they use a TURKEY FEATHER to Mix everything together...
These Tanks are filled with fish Waiting to be "MILKED" and others waiting to be RELEASED back into the Lakes and Streams...of the area..
There is a big Tall ... two Story high  TOWER that has LOTS of different types of local fish in it...    it was like watching Fish TV
THESE tanks Also hold fish waiting to be Milked...     and those thingys in the Middle are cylinders full of Fertilized Eggs in different stages...      and when they HATCH they will be put into these tanks...  once the BIG fish are released..
These are what CRAPPIE look like.... BEFORE they are Filets and Cookered up and EATEN...
The were in the TALL TANK
THIS picture is looking DOWN INTO the Tall tank from the UPSTAIRS of the building...  the fish MAY LOOK SMALL butt really they are Way down at the Bottom  and just Look Little.
THIS will make you SHIVER....   THAT is Sarge's MOM... holding....
A SNAKE.... a REAL LIVE ONE....  not a stuffie or stuffs...
This is a picture of a Small pawt of the big LAKE where Lots of the fish will be let loose...
 Another Fish TV picture...

This Guy USED to be Alive... butt now he is sort of Stuffied... butt STILL not somethingy we would want to play with...    HE is a Snappering Turtle  Just fur Looking at and learning about...
THIS is a TIMBER RATTLER...  HE is POISON...       We don't EVER want to see one of those in OUR YARD...
It was a very INTERESTING... and Delicious Visit...

That's pretty cool you got to go into there. My mom doesn't like anything to do with fish, so it wouldn't work for us. We get some fish food and treats these days, but she orders it under protest.

that was an interesting recipe how to cook fishies... maybe I can have my own fish hatchery in my bathtub? ... ok a lame try to avoid a bath I know LOL. I sure hope that we all will never meet a rattler in the furs... oh wait they have no furs...then in the "stuff-some-weird-people-use-for-handbags".

When Mom was working as a pilot she had a layover in Florida and she and her copilot went and played tourist in the Everglades. They went to this game preserve for alli-gators and rode one of those swamp boats. There were gators in pens that had been injured and rescued and all over the place were signs about "SAVE the gators". But then there's this sign that said "come to the snack bar - try out tasty GATOR NUGGETS!? WTD? You're trying to save them by eating them as snacks?

Looks like a fun day and I need to tries me some of that crappy.

OMD what a FUN day!!! I like the look of the crappie fish and thought it reminded me of something, so did the go and ogle thing... North American freshwater of the 'sunfish' family. Oh yes, I knows sunfish, so now I know one of its members! If at all I ever have to break vege eating, it is with fish only and if it fresh fresh fresh like that, there are few foods which can beat it! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

What a fun and very interesting trip but we gotta tell say that we think that Sarg's mom is a very brave peep to hold a snake and she even looks happy!

OMD! Sarge's mom was holding a snake? And dancing with the snake around her neck? We are shocked! Did she do this while you boys were milking the fish? Oh, mom just said we should reread everything butt we did not know Sarge's mom was a snake dancer!

Other than the snakes, this looks like a fun tour! I went to a fish hatchery a few years ago. Yours looks much more interesting. We didn't really get an official tour or anything, it was all self-guided. And there were no snakes, thankfully!
