These are Sugar Snap or Snow Peas... We love them Right from the Vines, They are so Crunchy and Delicious... We NEVER miss a chance to be right there when SHE is picking THOSE... Butt, SHE is sort of STINGY with them... SHE says that they are Fabulous to Pick and Blanch in HOT WATER and then put in an ICE BATH... (can you believe THAT?)
She puts two Round thingys of Ice in the water and then lets the peas cool totally ...
and Drains and Dries them... and then puts them in the FREEZER fur putting in Soups and stuffs...
It is like SUMMER eating in the WINTER...
We eat them cooked... butt they are BEST Fresh from the vine... Just sayin...

My mom loves the snow peas. I've never tried them myself.
maybe that icy water is impawtant because they are snow peas and otherwise the snow will melt away? they are tasty fresh from the vine and it's great to have them with a giant t-bone steak... I will add it to my mommas shopping list :o)

My Mom and Dad grew these this year too. NONE of them made it to blanching because the 3 of us sat by the vines and ate them all-BOL! *Ear Licks* Noodle

I have been doing a bit of harvesting in our backyard as well . . . tomatoes off the vine, strawberries off the vine, green apples off the branch. Mommy wonders what is taking me so long to do my bidness. Well, Lady, I am HARVESTING!

We love snap peas. We put them in stir fry, steam them with other vegetables, or eat them raw. (Do they stay crisp when you freeze them like that?)
Our tomato plants are doing super this year, last year they hardly grew, and we get to have a cherry tomato sometimes - hazel goes crazy for maters! The peas on the other hand are not doing as well.

So....we're not the only ones who get baths! They sure look good. We don't know how they can just be stuck in cans!

I have never had a sugar snap pea...but MOM got all excited about this and said they are her favorites! She just loves to eat them raw...they make such a nice crunch!

We love snap peas. We have been getting them in our local farm basket (we buy a veggie share cause Lady has a black thumb).
Those are gorgeous and plump sugar snaps, we love them too.

We have just started eating beans and we love them. Mom dehydrated some Italian green beans yesterday. We will ask her for snow peas next time!
