Now Yesterday some of you asked about POISON Mushrooms.... and we will tell you this.... the POISON kind look NOTHING like the MORELS.... There is no danger with THESE.... Later in the summer we DO get a kind of Toadstool looking thingy... that IS safe to eat.... IF you really REALLY know what you are looking for... BUTT our mom and dad do not ever hunt those... because Mistakes HAVE been known to happen with them.... beclaws with THOSE.... GOOD ones can grow right beside BAD ones.... NOT with the MORELS though.... THESE guys don't look like ANY TYPE of the POISON ones...
AND let us tell you THIS one.... Last Friday while waiting fur Shawnee to finish her HIKE.... we met up with a RETIRED National Forest Ranger....and his wife... From FLORIDA..... they had come ALL the WAY to OHIO... Just to HUNT MORELS... they brought a Dehydrator along... just in case they got REALLY lucky and had more than they could dare to eat at one time... Does THAT tell you how FABULOUS these thingys are?

Glad you are careful with the mushrooms you are eating. We are proud of you for dead-ing the mole. We are trying to dead a groundhog these days. Lady is no fun and is not letting us.
Those mushrooms look amazing!!!! Oh, and you might want to hide that mole ...or tell the rest of the moles on the hill to hide because guess who is back ...the other Doxie who likes to dead things. Bawahahahhahahahahaha

Guess what? My mom saw morels in her store yesterday... and she immediately activated her gripping devices and grabbed that jar... and then ... she looked on the price tag...OMDOMDOMD....I rather buy a ticket for an airplane and start a morel hunt with you :o)

Wow! Those look great! Ghostwriter's aunt and uncle from Germany would hunt mushrooms where ever they went, and they've traveled all over the world. They would dry them and cook them later.
We have never had any moles in our yard. But we get lots of shrews!

I've never had a morel. We've looked for them here in Arizona and haven't found one yet. Maybe the giant cactus scare them away.

Hey Frankie! I caught a mouse the other day - but it was not a live one. It looked like an owl had eaten it and then "gave it up". Freaked mom out when she was legs sticking out of my mouth. And Dad took it away. sometimes peeps are no fun!

Mommy loves mushrooms and she would love to try those sometime. Frankie I remember when you deaded that mole and I just know your whole family was proud of you except maybe your Dad wasn't proud of the hole. I know you have to do what you have to do to keep your family safe.
