Ranger says that TODAY is National DOG Day...

Well WHAT THE HECK IS THAT ABOUT?????    WE thought that EVERY DAY was DAWG DAY..
The other day..... Mini S   (Chef Sasha's Mini)  told about how she tried her Paw at planting and growing and picking her own Snacks...          She did a FABULOUS job of it too!!!!    She doesn't care fur MILKBONES...  so she planted a Different Variety of Snacks...  TEDDY BEARs.    OMD she had a BUMPER crop... and there are STILL more coming on.

So anyway I thought that I should check OUR MILKBONE crop.. and see how it was coming...

OMD   they are hanging in CLUSTERS...      THIS is gonna be a GRRRREAT year..   YEP there are SOME already RIPE...
You gotta pick them at just the  PAWfect time...
And be CAREFUL not to Bruise or Chomp them..         OMD......    ERNIE..... hurry up.... get that Other BUCKET...   this one is FULL already...     Here you go Frankie.... WHAT are we gonna do with all of these?   They will spoil before we can eat 87 of them.
Mini S asked about that also.       What do you do keep them fur the cold dark Snowy winter?    You CAN them..          Here's How...      Wash the jars and make SURE there are no Squirrel hairs in them..    THEN you take the NICEST ones.. and you Carefully put them in the Jars and put the tops on.
You must let them sit fur at LEAST 87 hours to SEAL...  that is what keeps the Squirrels OUTTA them in the long storage time.       Once they are SEALED (87 hours later)   you simply store them on the shelves until you need them.    No refrigeration required...         How long will they "KEEP" and be safe to eat?       87 Days... is the recommended Maximum time.    BUTT ours never last more than that.    Just sayin.

Oh me was so worried that the wind storm you had swept away this year's crop! Butt instead...it multiplied! Bring on some more wind {and blow a few of the seeds to Florida).

Wow,
Those biscuits sure look good.
How do you get them to grow so big?
Must make a trip to the doggie center and see if I can get some here before winter comes.

I want to try growing milkybones, but Momma has a black thumb and I have NO thumbs, so I don't know how well it would work.

What a great crop you have this year? Are they organic? Do you use fertilizer?

Wow you guys have green paws for sure. Thank you for the canning lesson. It is just in time, cause I have so many growing and I don't want to waste them. I saw some squirrels peaking in the window, so I have to get them safe. Thanks you guys and I am glad you got such a good crop again.

That' s huge crop! You're going to be enjoying those FRESH, NATURAL Milkbones for days to come.

We don't think they work too well in our climate...to dry.
