In all the time that I have been blogging... it has always been US sending those things to Our Friends when THEY needed them... Other than the time when Ernie needed a bit of surgery for the thing under his arm... My boys have been BLESSEDLY Healthy and Injury Free.
I always WONDERED if POTP and such... really did hel?
NOW I can say from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE..... YES IT DOES...
We all rally around and send the kind and soothing words when needed. We SAY we are THERE FOR... our friends. But until YOU have been on the RECEIVING END of them you can NOT begin to imagine what it feels like. You can NOT believe how MUCH IT truly means. We received Comments from total STRANGERS... had comments and or Email from friends that we thought had moved away from Blogville.
Each and every time someone took the time to reach out and send us their thoughts and kind words.... I FELT STRONGER and BETTER.
Frankie was Exhausted from all the COMMOTION and UPSET and Poking and PRODDING. He needed to REST when we got home. I was SO keyed up... that had I NOT had YOU ALL to turn to... I would have been Disturbing him... constantly.
I was DISTRAUGHT and YOU were THERE for ME... Just like I have always said to Others.
I am SO lucky to have YOU ALL.
AND a DARNED FINE VET. One who has great affection for Frankie and Ernie... but FRANKIE in particular... He Just ADORES the boy. Dr. Hustey's DAD is actually one of our Silent Followers... Never comments but always READS... and Dr. Hustey knows everything that goes on in Frankie and Ernie's life because his Dad tells him about it. (Hello Mr. Hustey, We LOVE YOUR SON!) Not many Vets you can say ALL of THAT about.
When I made the decision NOT to RUSH off to OSU with Frankie there were SEVERAL factors that I considered..
1. Frankie would have to STAY there... far from HOME and ALONE
2. I was in NO SHAPE to be Driving a Car.
3. Ernie would need to be brought home and stay with Hubby.
4. Frankie would be REALLY afraid and MISERABLE...
5. IF there WAS a Mass and his eye needed to be REMOVED... I would NOT have allowed THEM to do it. I would have wanted Dr. Hustey.
6. I wanted to give the meds a CHANCE to work... before I put Frankie through ANYTHING else.
The Cost was NEVER a factor... and until it was mentioned I had not given that a thought.
NOW for what we learned TODAY.......
Out of Every BAD thing..... GOOD things COME....
If Frankie had not developed the Eye Infection... it may have been MONTHS before this was discovered...
Frankie DOES have a Mass in his left eye.
TODAY the doctor was able to get a BETTER look since the infection was cleared up. He Showed us the thing... it is like a small brown Cauliflower thing. THAT is how the Doctor described it so that we would know what to look for... AND we DID see it... once he had his light in the right place and it shone from Side to Side through his cornea.
Since he could get a better look he actually took Pictures of it... and is sending those to his friend who is a Veterinary ophthalmologist in Columbus. HE will then do a consultation with our Vet and we will formulate a Plan of Action.
Our vet had HOPED that his friend would be able to get back to him TODAY but that must not have been possible. It has been a long hard day of waiting for the phone to ring... And I didn't want any of YOU to think I was not wanting to tell you what we know.
IF... IF Frankie must have the eye removed... it will be done by our vets. They will then get him a prosthesis. Dr. Hustey is a good surgeon and Dr. Welch ACTUALLY worked at MED VET in Columbus.... that is one of the two best places for surgery in the entire state. So they are capable and well trained and experienced.
The doctor did say that even had we gone to Columbus YESTERDAY... they would have looked and then said.... NO SURGERY UNTIL THE INFECTION IS TOTALLY CLEARED UP...
So... we are in a Holding Pattern playing the Waiting game... until the Ophthalmologist gets in contact with our doctor. THAT may not happen ...even tomorrow... but that is FINE since Frankie still has to have the eye drops for several more days... until he is completely free of any possible infection.
DEAR FRIENDS... I will let you know What I know... as quickly as I know it. THANK YOU for your support and for your POTP and the Cards and the phone calls and the Emails... they are keeping ME Sane... and Helping Frankie. I know it. THANK YOU

I know we just sent hugs but we are sending more. Hugs and love and pug power POTP for Frankie. And hugs and love for you Lana.
Bailey, Hazel, Greta & Mom
This time it is Mom Kim doing the talking. I remember with each fungal infection of the eye that I had, always the infection HAD to be totally cleared before anything else could be done and that took awhile plus I had to wait for the surgeon's schedule to allow for a longer surgery time than he usually had because he was basically doing two procedures at once. And also to prevent a relapse so as difficult as it may be to wait, it IS worth it.
We at Team Beaglebratz are all sending you all POTP and prayers - prayers to you for what you have already been through and prayers and hugs for the upcoming wait.
Mom Kim, Shiloh'n Diva Shasta
Sendin lotsa POTP and big hugs.
It sounds like Frankie is in great hands with your vet. We will keep our paws crossed tight for all of you.
Whatever it takes, we'll get you and your boys through this! I so hoped that you would have heard back from the dogtur. That is an awful feeling of just waiting. We've got the POTP cranked up full force!
Your Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Lots of prayers for Frankie. We'll even make sure he gets in the prayer book at Church this week.
Stay strong Mom you are doing a great job. I'm so glad you have your Vets working together with you. I know how we feel having our Vet in our corner.
Sending POTP and prayers for Frankie. It's scary when our furbabies have something wrong with them but he is getting the care he needs and hopefully he will be better soon.
Such a scary time. We've been there before and totally understand. We've been thinking about Frankie a lot today knowing that he was going to be back at the vet again. The news could have been better, but at least now you have some idea of what's happening. Stay strong. Wouldn't it be great if the "mass" turned out to be a part of the infection and just disappeared. That happened to one of our dogs years ago. But regardless the outcome, know that you, Butch, and Frankie will be in our thoughts and prayers. We love you.
Dear mates, all we can say is we love you to bits and pieces and have you in our hearts till Mr Frankie is on the mend. It is wonderful to have a vet you love and trust. Take care and know we are thinking of you, all the way from Oz. NO WORRIES (especially for you all) and LOVE, Stella, Rory and Carol
Sending love and prayers to you

We are continuing to still send Scottie POTP your way! My peep has growths on her optic nerve that looks like pulled cotton and cauliflower. She doesn't have any problems with them and hope that is what happen when they examine Frankie. I think having a fake eye sounds like the coolest thing ever - so you, dear Frankie, are in a win-win situation!!

Sending that POTP to you. We dont have those POTP pawprint lights, if we did, we would be shining them real bright fur u. Get better real soon.
Oh Frankie! Such scary news. I'm glad you have a vet that understands you are a very important doggie who requires special love and the best possible treatment. I hope it isn't too ouchie. I'm thinking of you, little leggless dude. Have you considered getting an eye patch instead of a fake eyeball? I think the ladies love the pirate look.
You will need to work on your hearing because with only one eye, little brothers full of mischief will be able to sneak up on you and bitey you. I know it isn't fair, but that's just the way the minds of little brothers work.
Momma and I are sending hugs and good vibes and Angel Mango will be by your side the whole time to help you be strong and brave.
Kisses,
Dexter
Love, prayers, POTP and hugs heading to your whole family from downunder.
Love charlie and family!!
EEEEEK we unintentionally took a break from our computer and blogging this week and have come to find out that we have missed quite a bit. Mamma and I were so so upset to hear your news, Frankie, and we are thinking of you. My piggy kisses are extra healing (so Mamma says) and I'm shouting them out your way. We know you are in the best hands. Sending lots of hugs and love. xoxoxo
We're still purring, praying and wagging for Frankie. Waiting is always sooo hard.
The Florida Furkids

Love you lots,
