Of course WE helped with EVERY BIT OF the Pawject... and WHAT a Pawject it was... Not only were there entire downed Trees and all their Branches in there... butt WEEDS and Poison Ivy and Oak Which caused Mom to ITCH like CRAZY for 4 weeks... Butt also HoneySuckle Vines and Multi Flora Rose canes with STICKERS nearly 87 feet LONG.
that concrete thingy is what we call the BIRD SLAB... we put feeders on hooks over top of it in the winter... Now there to the Left of the closest tree is ONE of the FINE examples of a Tree Stump left from where dad has cut down a tree here and there for Years... and then just pulled all the stuffs into the DITCH Which became the BRUSH PILE... over the years... and you can see ANOTHER stump down there behind that tree and the one to its Right... YEP... it all went in the Brush Pile, TOO.. and those Dark PILES beyond the GRASS Area... YEP... another tree Stump and A SECOND Brush Pile... KID YOU NOT... where all of THAT tree has been laying for over 7 years... It all got Burned away also...
See all the BROWN area?? THAT used to be Dead Leaves... branches and Etc.. covering those LOGS all up. This is the 4th Place that we had Fires... We started at the TOP of the hill and just kept working our way DOWN the Brush Pile... Day after DAY after DAY etc. etc. etc.
Mom and Dad Rolled and Pushed and SHOVED LOGS and Pulled Limbs... and WEEDS and IVY and stuffs... every day... all the time fighting the wood smoke...
Well a couple of nights Mom had dad cut long sticks and she cooked TUBE STEAKS fur all of us to have fur Supper... THAT was kinda FUN...
This fire was from when they were only 1/3 of the way to the Bottom.
Ernie and I kept bizzy... making sure that there were no MOLES or Squirrels Or RABBITS or Chipmunks... getting in their way. AND we also dug
Butt Wait we have MORE... tomorrow...

How very smart of you to dig fire break holes. Safety first. Roasted tube steaks.....drooool. I have no doubt that with out you and Ernie's help this could have been a disaster.
Blessings,

How fun to turn the work of burning the brush into an excuse for a cookout. Good thing your pawrents had you two around to snoopervise all the work.
You gots to have a weenie roast with the brush fire. What fun that must have been. We get to come visit Mommy today if it don't rain. We still haven't had my birthday party, Dang it!! Nut I'd rather just come home than have a party.

That was some brush pile with 87 years worth of stuff in it.
I had dinner at a friend's house recently and her property looked very similar. I should send you dad over there to help clean up. bol

Man, y'all were busy wif all dat hard work!
Mom didn't burn the posion IVY!!! That can be really dangerous. Mom had a neighbor as a kid that burned posion Sumac and ended up hospitalized after breathing it in. Hope everyone ended up OK.
Nice to have a real clear area again. You guys have a much better playing area.
That is a lot of burning, but at least you got some hotdogs (no pun intended BOL!). I like to eat marshymellows, but I don't like mine toasted, they get all sticky in the furs.
I am sure it was a lot of hard work, but there were also a lot of new things to smell out and mark! I bet all this hard work was a lot of fun for you guys anyway, right?
