Our Dogtor Visit... OUR momma don't "Low....

OMD   we went to the Dogtor fur our annual visit....    ERNIE the ENORMOUS Weighed 20#s and I (Frankie Furter) weighed  12#'s.....    THAT means that Ernie gained 2#'s from last year's visit... and I...the good boy  LOST a Pound.

FURST... we gotta tell you that......   OUR Momma Don't 'Low...   more than one Vaccine Per Day...          Do you remember when MY (Ernie's)  Roxy told about what HER momma Don't 'Low....        Well, this is what OUR momma Don't 'Low...           More on it at the bottom...

THIS is US going up to the Door of the Dogtor's torture chamber office...
Come ON Ernie.... don't be a Squirrel Butt chicken...
OKAY MOM.... Ernie is ready fur being tortured Open the FURST door...
 IN we go....
TURN to the RIGHT Ernie.... See where it says DOGS   Got in THAT way...
Wanna Magazine to read while we wait, Ernie?
OH you would rather talk to the Girrrrrls behind the desk thingy...    Don't furget to tell Miss Beth.. THANK YOU fur the snack you SCARFED Down.
LOOK at that HUGE GARFIELD....       We asked him if he knew Mayoress Madi... butt he said no.   Poor guy doesn't know WHO he is Missing out on.      See the BLUE door... THAT is the Room WE are going to go in...
TOLD you...     the Lady opened the door and called fur US... and IN we went...
THIS is Ernie...  lissening to what our Dogtor had to say...     and he REMINDED the GOOD Dogtor... that WE are ONLY allowed ONE Vaccination per day...    THAT is MOM's RULE. MOMMA Don't 'Low.....   BUTT one (1) Per DAY.        THAT's How she ROLLS...
OK.... I'll turn my head and COFF fur you Dogtor Hustey.     OKAY.... ONE shot fur each of us TODAY... and in a few days we will come BACK and have the OTHER...     WHAT?   What do you mean?   I have to come back  TWO more times...  OH.   OKAY...  Ernie doesn't Need his Rabies this time and THAT is why he only has to come back ONCE more.       OH by the way.... mom has Benadryl pills in her purse...  JUST IN CASE...        I KNOW.... I KNOW.... she is a silly Butt Scooter big Worry Wart...     butt that's OUR mom and we kinda Like her, no matter HOW crazy she is.         We know she LOVES us and doesn't want to CHANCE us having a Reaction from having too many shots at ONCE.
Now THIS was on the WALL and we thought all of our Cat furends would like to know that OUR Dogtor is an equal opportunity TORTURER  kinda guy.
NOW THEN.....  in case you didn't see it YESTERDAY...   TWO of our other FURENDS...    MUFFIN and MAGGY  both went to THEIR Dogtors and got their annual shots...   BUTT they both had SCARY SCARY  REACTIONS to them.... and had to go BACK to THEIR Dogtors and get MORE shots and Benadryl stuffs so they would stop Swelling all Up and stuffs.        THEY are BOTH   OKAY  NOW.... butt it was really SCARY fur a while.
One of my WIVES had that happen.   Puddles has had it happen.     Muffin just had it...   and we are all DACHSHUNDS...   BUTT remember that Maggie is a PUG..    so it isn't JUST dachshunds .                 MOM says   ONE shot Per Trip...   make as many  trips as necessary to get all the shots we NEED...      beclaws she says it is just better to be Safe than Sorry.       You all might want to talk to your peeps about this... spreading it out over a few days...   JUST to be ON THE SAFE SIDE.               Even if you have NEVER EVER had a reaction... there is always the FURST time.       AND don't furget to have the BENADRYL   handy...   beclaws if you DO ever have a reaction... the FASTER you get that in you... the Better.     THEN call the VET and SAY...... WE ARE ON OUR WAY BACK...
Our Vaccinations   ARE a Good thingy....  butt SOMETIMES you can have TOO MUCH (many) of a good thingy(s)   all at the same time.             Just sayin.
OUR momma...  DON'T 'Low   BUTT One Per Trip.

Wow!! Ernie looks panic stricken in some of those pictures. Just like Prissy does when we go to the dogtor. Prissy and Ernie gotta be related. She's a "porker" too.

Your mom is smart and doing what is best for you, even if you have to go 2 more times. Health is the most important thing.

Oh Frankie and Ernie.... How we wish we knew all of this BEFORE Muffin got her shots! We always thought that since we've never had a problem with shots before, that this would NEVER happen to us!! WRONG-O!!!! Your Mom is one smart cookie for reminding the Dr. only ONE shot per visit. We was all really scared fur Muffin. Daddy drove us all back to the Vet at 3am and we commend his Mario Andretti driving skills. Wow, we were going really super fast.

We hope by today Muffin is feeling much, much better. We pray that Maggie is much better too!

Thanks again for the very impawtant PSA!

Hugs,
Lily Belle

That's a good idea. One shot per time.

Your Momma is one smart cookie..for a peep!

Brudder Max (DaOdderWeenie) can't have ANY shots anymore. He's HIGHLY allergic to the Rabies shot and the Distemper Parvo shot almost killed him the last time. So the doctor wrote a letter to the County excusing him from getting rabies shots, and the vet feels at 10 years old, he's built up enough immunity to not have to get the other vaccines anymore either. {sigh} Why can't I be so lucky???

My Aunt Gracie had a really bad reaction from her shots and almost died. It was so skeery. She's a maltese/poodle mix, so any small dogs should be wary!

We're glad to hear your mom is so safe with your shots. It sure has been scary around Blogville for some getting their shots lately.

Now we are wondering how often this happens? Seems like it happens a lot! Are the dogturs giving too much medicine? Guess what Ernie?? We are about the same size! I weigh 21 pounds!

It's great that your mom has always the pills in her purse. So she is well prepared. Many thanks for your good advice. I hope all will be careful and follow your advice.

Your mom is very smart to only allow one vaccine per visit. Our mom didn't know this a long time ago and angel Maggie got very sick and walked around like she was stoned for two whole days. Mom learned the hard way! This is a great post, guys!

Love ya lots♥

Mom would be asking the vet for the injections to take home so she can give them rather then going back to the vet (ours charges a $35 wellness visit EVERY time you set paw in the door)

Sometimes what Momma don't 'low, is GOOD! We've been reading about Maggy and Muffin. AND we remember those pictures of YOUR wife.

Boy, your VETs office is POSH...ours is just VERY basic...BUTT then, we don't want to spend much time in there.

XXXOOO Bella & Roxy

Heehee, we LOVE that the VET tortures cats, too. So does ours.

Sweet William The Scot said...

I kind if get my shots at separate times also. Kind of because one of the shots the vet only stocks has two things in one. But I never get rabies when I get the other. Our vet is actually recommending less shots.
Thanks for being a friend

Your Mom takes such good care of you - that one shot a day is a good rule. Mom had a little cockapoo who had a bad reaction to his vaccines when he was just a baby. The vet was pretty sure it was the particular strain of vaccine from a particular manufacturer. He said to be safe Lucky should never have any vaccines from that manufacturer. Who knows if he was right, but Mom listened.

Hope your upcoming visits go well too and you get more treats.

Hi Frankie and Ernie, hmmm...hope everything went well for you guys. We don't usually, actually only once when we were little, get annual shots or any shots at all. We do titers testing once every three years. If our bloods have enough anti-bodies, then we don't get shots. And our bloods have never (only once)failed us.

Unknown said...

Hmmm...good advice guys, we're gonna tell mom right now!

My vet does titers so I don't have to have any unnecessary shots.

Good advices Frankie my pal….I dussnt ave no shots no more but I tell dim-wits Lola bowt it fur sure

Your mom is super smart. I space the vaccines out at least a week apart and two if my vet will let me. That way if there is a reaction they will know which vaccine is the culprit.

Dexter said...

I get my shots spaced out too. You never know. Plus momma usually schedules it for a Saturday morning so just in case I blow up, she can rush back to the vet. Momma says the corgi dog that she lived with when she was a young human blew up after one of his shots once. Not sure how they cured him what with it being like 87 years ago before modern science.

Kisses,
Dexter

My littlest sis Maggie had an allergic reaction when she got all of her boosters. The vet walked Mom through what to do - and now she not only splits them up, but takes Benedryl an hour before she goes in for a shot. It was might scary!
Your vet has separate areas for dogs and cats? That's too bad - I love hanging out with kit-cats while I wait. And guess who I got to sit next to the other day?!? My new friend - a ferret! It was really cool.
Mom said better me than Cammie. Hmm.
Play bows,
