Our mom is so silly.... she calls these flowers Holly HAWKS... We aren't fooled one bit... We know that HAWKS are BIRDS...
This first one is really a very light Lemon Yellow but the picture doesn't show the color very well.
There are some Pretty PINK ones also... and that is their true color.
We also had some WHITE ones... butt they have finished blooming and Mom said they were sorta disappointing anyway. WE don't know how she could be disappointed when she thinks they are HAWKS instead of Flowers. SHEESH.

I think those flowahs is hawk IMPAWSTERS! Can they fly like a hawk? I think not. Do hawks has lemon yeller and pink fevvers? I think not. I rest my case. But they is furry pritty.
Those are beautiful but we agree they don't look anything like hawks
They look great! Mom wants such holly hocks, because their granny had them always on her house and she thought that could be a nice memory. Sadly we only had them for one year and they never came back. Have a wonderful sunday
Maybe the mom needs some glasses. Those are clearly flowers. And beautiful flowers at that.
Blessings,
Goose
I'm with you!! Hawks grow in a nest, not from the ground! What was she thinking!!
So purrrty! All me gets to look at is a bunch of.....WEEDS!

You have a scary garden with dragons and hawks . . . . .teehee. Have a great day. Lee and Phod
Ah Frankie and Ernie, this was a great post for us to get to. My Vickie has Holly Hocks all over the property and she just loves them. When she was a little girl they made dolls from these wonderful flowers. We only have the single flower holly hocks here. We are going to look for the ones like you got for next year.
We thinks the flowers are lovely.
Pretty flowers. Hope your weekend is going great guns. Have a serene Sunday now.
Best wishes Molly

I love hollyhocks, we used to have them in the garden when I was growing up.

Those are pretty flowers. Our mom says her great-grandma had them at her house and she also made dolls out of them like Bert's Vicki did. How cool that they both have the same memory to share.

Hey F-n-E!
Wow, maybe Mamaw is a little confused! I have lots of red-tailed hawks in my territory and they don't look a thing like those flowers. Hmmmm Come to think of it, their tails really aren't red either. Strange nature. Anyway, gorgeous holly-whatevers! BOL

I used to have some of those in my front yard! Then my mom planted irises there, but the holly hawks came back last summer. That was a big shock as they hadn't come up for a few years. They didn't come up this summer at all. I'm hoping they'll be back next summer.
Hi boys! We're trying to get caught up reading blogs today! We just LOVED seeing your gorgeous flowers and going to the Wag Fest and everything!
Cammie!
