CHOMP your OWN WOOD... It will ....

While Ernie and I (Frankie Furter) am off to see the PUMPKIN SHOW....    I thought I would leave you with these pictures of our Winter WOOD.
This is one side of the HOOOOOOOGE pile of logs that came to our driveway... WAY back in AUGUST..    and was covered up and started drying out... until it was Cool enough fur the SPLITTING to begin.     THAT happened MONDAY...

THIS is the Wood Splitter....     and the pile of wood... after mom and dad had worked one whole day...   See Dad's yellow gloves...   gotta wear those beclaws the wood is all sharp and stuffs.      The Wood Splitter is REALLY LOUD....            Ernie and I have to stay WAY far Away... so Logs don't roll on us and make us all Squashed.    SO... we spent the day....   BEHIND the Woodshed...  Digging a HOOOOGE HOLE...and some of the time having Zoomies,  and  Dragging Sticks fur dad to use fur Kindling.   He REALLY appreciates that.       If you look over the TOP of the blue tarp... you can see MY FAVORITE MAPLE TREE...  it has lost half of its leaves... already.
This is the SIDE section of the Wood SHED....   Mom Stacks the wood after Dad splits the logs...    This is  one entire stack in the BACK and just Half of what she stacked in the Front.      They took a Break and that is when mom took the pictures.
Now on the LEFT of this pic.  you can see TWO Stacks of wood... left over from LAST YEAR...  we use that FURST beclaws it is TOTALLY DRY...   It will last until January... when the newer wood will be dry and ready.
THIS is the Other pawt of the Inside of the wood Shed.   Mom had Just started stacking in this section.  It went Clear to the Roof and she Stacked THREE full ROWS and one row that is only 1/2 way to the roof,  in here...            Mom was really happy about one thingy.... This is the FURST time EVER that Dad didn't mash her toes even once.    BOL       BOL
It is really HARD and HOT work...     Thus the old saying....    CHOP your OWN wood... it will WARM you TWICE.
Remember ....   We are off to the Circleville Pumpkin Show Today....      I can ALREADY taste the "FAIR" Foods... and the Pumpkin I Scream.         See you tomorrow...

Geeze Franky, with all that wood I would think at least we would have seen Pinocchio in there somewhere!

You're Mom and Dad are totally pawsome lumberjacks (and Jill). At least you'll be nice and toasty this winter.

Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin

Chopping and stacking wood is hard work for sure. We used to split and stack 17 cords a winter until hubby decided to change to a gas fireplace. I still miss our old wood stove. There's nothing like it! Your peeps are lucky to have a splitter, but with that much wood they'd need it for sure. It's always such a good feeling when it's all done and stacked. :)

Wow, that's lots and lots of work! Momma just pushes buttons on a thingy in the wall to make our house warm, but it's not as pretty as a fire.

That is a lot of wood and a lot of work! We're very grateful because God keeps providing us with wood to keep us warm. The Hubby doesn't have a log splitter that works that well, so it's a bit harder work for him. He won't let me help either so that makes it worse. I keep telling him one day of working it together and we could crank it out in a day.

We don't have a wood shed either, I think that might come in handy.

Wow, that is a lot of wood! This is interesting, as we do not chop our own wood. Or have a fireplace. We just complain about our electric bill in the winter! Have fun today!

OK< so My Vickie wonders if big nasty bugs get into your wood pile during the winter and if you have to be really careful when you pick up your wood to use it?

AND we can't wait to see your post from today at the fair.
