Every Fall my dad builds a big Brush Pile in the middle of the garden area. He then puts up two or three of Mom's Bird feeders near by. The Birds use the brushpile to perch and Hide from hawks and stuffs. ALSO chipmunks go in there. It is a Dachshund Delight to search through, let me tell you.
Don't worry... we still have a nice Auxilary brush pile fur the Rest of the year..
So then in the late winter... Dad BURNS the brush and spreads the ashes all over the garden. It Feeds the veggie plants that will SOON be gettin planted. Bye Bye Brush Pile.. See you in the fall.

Our mom haz a Burnin’Bush only it iz the real thing – in the Fall the leavez turn all red. We Beaglebratz just knowz there haz got tu b sum cool-doozie huntin’in that brush pile – our mom haz a garbage can for trash only it haz old dead tree stuffz in it – even with that we can smell the squirrelz around there sumwherez.

Congratulations, just what you hoped for. I see others are planning on coming over to roast squirrels over the fire. I assume the squirrels will also bring the nuts and other are bring the condiments. So all that is left is the beer. I'm on my way with a couple of six packs (will that be enough?).

I had a hunch you two were going to win! How could you not!
I have heard about these kind of burns being good for soil and gardens. My assistant now fancies herself a gardener (she has lived out of the city for 4 months and all of a sudden she thinks she is the Green Giant). At any rate, she has big plans for her BIG garden just as soon as she convinces Papa to dig out a space for her in the backyard (which is over grown from previous owners). We will see ...
