BALANCE

FURST:.... I would REALLY like to thank those of you who gave me such GRRRRREAT ADVICE on how to get my puppy (ERNIE) housebroken... Keep those gems comin my way!!
I do have that Nature's Miracle and also some Purina pet stain & odor eliminator stuffs... I had Mom get these thingys when I took Ernie to PetSmart the first time...(I think I like the Nature's Miracle Bestest, by the way.) I am soakin down every "accident" with one of them. I have Already had mom put a divider in Ernie's (my OLD office) NIGHT TIME BED thingy... to make it a SMALLER area... and she will KEEP making it smaller and smaller... and guess WHAT.. He didn't DO ANYTHINGY AT ALL in there last night... so I am right on target with that one too. My mom or dad are puttin Ernie on a leash for the times when he has to GO QUICKLY... AND my mom has ALWAYS sang the PeePee Song for ME and I told her I want her to be singin it to Ernie TOO!!! Do you KNOW the PeePee Song? It goes like this... Frankie Pee. Frankie Pee.. Frankie make a PeePee. Over and over. I love it. BUTT I told mom she has to sing it to Ernie like THIS... Ernie Pee. Ernie Pee. Ernie make a PeePee.
TRUST me folks.... if you could experience it with your OWN ears... it would cause you to do Pees AND POOPS!!! I'm Just SAYIN' !! HOOOOOOWWWWWLLLLL
You might have to REMIND me... Or even ADD TO the suggestions... I am ALL new at this Stuffs you know... beclaws ERNIE is my FURST EVER Puppy!!!
Now this bidness of havin my OWN PUPPY... ERNIE... is all about BALANCE and stuffs. See I realized that I can't just be doing my WORK and Playin with Ernie... beclaws... My mom would prolly get all lonely and miserable... SO I must leave some time to give her a chance to cuddle and rub my tummy and chest... so she doesn't get all SAD and.... maybe even green with Jellyness over the time I spend with Ernie. I gotta keep thingys in BALANCE.
Now don't furget... DEADLINE is COMING
fur the Duck Tape thingys... on NOVEMBER 4th.. get your pictures of your Artsy FARTSsy creative Use of Duck Tape Creations to
roaddog(at)road-dog-tales(dot)com
And your pictures of where you have seen (or Used) duck tape.. used to
frankiefurter(at)wildblue(dot)NET
DON'T furget to include your Name(s).. and Blog Addy... so we can link you in during the week.
Duck Tape week will be Nov. 7-11...

We don't have a pee pee song, but momma used to sing to me in the car because when I was a puppy I got the car sickies.

"Mango is riding in the car, car
Mango is riding in the car"

La, la, la.

Awesome work, Frankie and Mom. You are doing all the right things. Keep telling yourself that it all improves with time and age. Little Ernie can only hold it for so long. Pay close attention to his body language and see if you can't recognize the signs when he HAS to go, and go right NOW.

You are doing such a great job of dividing your loving attention between Ernie and Mom and we are sure they both appreciate it too.

Have a great weekend.

Our shelter's Twitter page has a new follower, "Tinkle Belts," for doggies who can't hold their pee. I know Ernie is just a pup and is learning, but I love the name of their company - very creative, don't you think?

I'm glad you keep mommie from being so miserable by offering your belly for those very important rubs. You don't want her to feel alone and ignored, do you? :)

I have never had trouble housebreaking a dog even hard headed Tinker in just one day!! When I have to go then they have to go. Also when they are on their feet,, then we go out. When they go I praise them over and over and every time they go outside I praise them!! If they go in the house they get scolded and put out even when they don't have to go then. They very quickly get the message they are suppose to do their business outside! It works every time and very fast.
xx, Fern

Sounds like you're on right track with training Ernie! And, yeah, don't forget about your Mom & Dad while you're busy with Ernie. They still need some attention, too :)

Good job Frankie!

Oh Frankie, we are most impressed with your puppy training!! Our mom went through gallons of Nature's Miracle when me and Gizmo were puppies (nothing like getting 2 puppies during the wettest winter in 100 years!!) You're doing a great job, and it's so thoughtful of you to allow your mom to rub your tummy now and then!! Have fun!!

It sounds like you're doing an excellent job of caring for your new friend and that your mom hardly has to do any work at all!

We've always heard that weenie dogs are the hardest to housebreak.. of course, we know that isn't true cause we live with two little morkies! We know Ernie will be a breeze compared to Ohno and Joy!!

OMD, OMD, OMD!!!! WE did not know about Ernie!! We cannot believe this news, there is a new junior Mayor in town??? Oh Lordy, we're gonna have to sit down, this is sooooo exciting!! Our Momster has had lots of pupsters and says we're all different, we got treats every time we did a pee pee out of doors, we now go and hide around the corner and pretend to have one, then come back in for a treat so if he's clever Ernie can work this well! Boy o Boy o Boy - this is huge news!! Dex and Lou xxx

You are right about keeping things in balance. You've got a lot going on there, and you don't want any jealousies gettin' in the way.

We don't have a pee-pee song. We just get 'hurry up' or 'quick-quick'. (Not that we listen.)

Boy Mr Frankie, you were lucky to get a pee pee song. We just got "Do your business, do your business" over and over until we couldn't stand it anymore and, well, we did our business. Enough said.

You are doing a great job with Ernie and it is so caring of you not to let your mum get the green jellies. Peeps can be so sensitive at times. Have a great day. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

Oh, yes...I think we doggies are super awesome at that "balance" stuff. A LOT more so than humans are. And it's good that you're making sure that you gives your mom plenty of attention. I think that's real impawtant when there's a new puppy in the house. You don't want your mom feeling left out.

PEE.S - My commands are go pee and go potty but my cousins use to be "hurry up" cause that is what her Momma would always say....
