How to make V-8

Sometimes... when there is TOOOOO much work goin on around my hill...
I just crawl under the napping bed that Sagira gave to me... THEN mom and dad can't find me to force me to help.

Yesterday my mom picked a gallon of green beans and a BUNCH of Green Peppers and some tomatoes. We took the green beans and the tomatoes and a few green peppers to Miss Buzz Off. She was Sooooooo happy to see me. And I got to talk with Louis and Benny and Daisy for a bit. THEN we came home beclaws there was MORE work to do...

All the green peppers had to be washed and cut and chunked.. Put on trays to go into the freezer. Once they were totally frozen we put them in TWO Gallon bags and popped them BACK in the freezer for Winter use.

Then my mom made ANOTHER hooge pot of V-8 stuff. She has to PRE cook the Onions, Green Peppers, GARLIC, Parsley, Carrots, Celery, and a couple of tomatoes... just to have the Juice to get the veggies started to cook.. THIS makes vERY VERY concentrated juice. NOT a Drop of water goes in the V-8. Then we cleaned that up and JUICED it out with this thingy...

Mom saves EVERY DROP. That way the tomatoes... that we Later picked and washed got ready for the JUICE MACHINE thingy... will all be grrrrrrrreat V-8 flavored!!

Please keep your Paws Crossed Tightly fur Gracie Slimmer... she has her surgery today...

AND... our dear furends.. Sammy Andy and Shelly are having a really ruff time right now. PLEASE cross your paws fur THEM too.

Frankie, with all those veggies (BLECH!) that need cutting up, I woz wonnering if'n your mom has a Vidalia Chop Wizard (as seen on TV) like my mom has? It is the most pawsome thingie (she says) coz it saves so much werk and is so much faster. But it is LOUD! You put the veggie in and WHAM it slams shut and out comes veggie pieces. You would not want to get you snooter in there!

Frankie, we need some gardening advice. We have a very hard time keeping our green peppers frozen. They get mushy, what are we doing wrong. You say you freeze them first before bagging. What does that do for them? We have so many green peppers we could use your advice. Sniffs, The HoundDogs

You do well to keep out of the way when there's work going on. That's my tactic too.

Lots of love and hugs to your friends who are having a tough time - and anyone else who is too.

Love and licks, Winnie

Those green peppers look so good, Frankie. Mom says if she were there helping, she would probably eat more than she packaged:) She just LOVES fresh veggies. You are sure going to be well-stocked for the winter.

Paws crossed for Gracie and hoping for some good news for Sammy, Andy, Shelly, and their Mom.

I was expecting a recipe.

You're lucky to be able to have fresh veggies right straight from the garden. I'd love to have that but I don't like the bugs and stuff that go along with it.

We like it when the green peppers start to turn red - they taste so much better. Have you ever char grilled them and then put them into jars with garlic, white wine vinegar and olive oil? UUUUmmmmm very nice on the antipasto plate!

Your peeps must be soooo healthy!
