Wildblue... Info.

Frankie's mom here.   I have had 2 emails and one comment asking for info. about Wildblue today.
I have had this since March 08 and have been totally satisfied...
They are wonderful people to work with.
It is not cheap to start with since you have to BUY the Dish, but they do have 3 monthly packets that range in cost from approx. $50.00 to approx. $70.00.  The price per month is based on the speed you choose.  The faster you want things to go.. the more you have to pay.  I can't give you the exact amt. since I ALSO have my virus protection through them.  It is Super too.    SO FAR... I have not had one "invasion" get through.   The Virus protection is called F-Secure.    It is super easy to run and has been great so far.
Here are the phone numbers that I have for Wildblue
1-866-945-3258      and    1-866-798-4787

They are going to be putting a new sat. up in Feb. or March 2011 and tell me that it will be even faster, no matter what "plan" you are on.
Today the GUY had to put a new   T.R.I.A   whatever that is...    on and he did an adjustment to the dish.        I know that I am getting on blogs much faster now and can leave comments faster also.   This is the first time I have ever had a full survice call since it was installed.
It isn't my beloved old friend... ROAD RUNNER... but it beats the holy heck out of dial up.
Hope this helps you .   LP

Well, Frankie, you are turning out to be just like your teacher mom and this Wildblue lesson deserves an A++++! Amos and I were at an agricultural fair yesterday and of course there were lots of vendors trying to tempt us into buying things we didn't need BUT there was a Dish Network guy there and he gave us a reason to re-think our cable, Comcast internet service, etc, because watching tv and blogging can be expensive (but fun, of course)! Soooo I am going to look further into your Wildblue lesson and I will probably be thanking you very soon for sharing this valuable info.
By the way, what kind of training collar did your mom use when you were a younger man? I'm taking a vote on training collars and I'd love to know what you used....or were you the perfect puppy and never needed any training at all? heehee!

You had a full schedule today AND you took some time out to blog about Wildblue for us. Yeah, Franke!

I asked Chico who painted his nails pink and he's not talking so I guess you're right - whatever happens at Luna's party, stays at Luna's party!

What I have found out about satellite internet is that the installation and repair people are almost always contractors - not employees. Thus, you have great service from Wildblue - and I had terrible (the internet itself worked fine - the human service is what I mean). But my contractor lived over 3 hours away.

Thus, my advice to anyone is find our WHO the contractor will be doing the installation and repair and make sure you are comfortable with them. Often, a local satellite installer is used and you can get to know them in advance.

My 2 cents.

Yay! I'm so glad the GUY came to get you set up and SPEEDY! Will this help when it clouds over? I'm nervous about the big events coming up in August.

dearest furiend, i'm not here to read your blog right now. I just want to say a quick howdy, that I"m grateful for both comments and most of all, keeping me updated on some issued I'd be in the dark about, and to let you know that tomorrow I'll remind everybody about the upcoming nuptials. Hey, I may be out of time, but I'm all for supporting my good friend.
I'll be back asap to get caught up on my beloved blog.

I'm like all WTF is Wildblue? a new doggie food? and why would doggie food company offer virus protection? and only 3 packs of food for $50? sounds pricey... then i read down to blogs and i'm like 'ooooohhhhh!'

ya, um, i'm not the sharpest knife in our drawer lately.

hey congratulations on your wedding and pawties! we may be too busy to attend but can't wait to see all the action shots!
