So I am just stunned to find out that I am not the ONLY dawg who hates those stoopid squiggley words thingys. I feel very relieved..
Way back almost a year ago I took it off my blog, to make it easier for my furends to comment. I have not had much trouble with SPAM.
Butt back in December when my mom's furend had a horrible experience... I put it back on for a little while... and I also started using... COMMENT MODERATION. I have really liked that a LOT!!! I used to think it was kind of snobby or something.... not any more!!! It has actually SAVED me a lot of time. I don't have to keep going back to my blog to see what comments have been left. I NEVER accidently MISS seeing a comment now either!!! That is the bestest part. Butt there is a grrrreat hidden thingy with COMMENT MODERATION... I get to check for SPAM stuff and just don't let it get put up there!!!
When I do get that Chinese/Japanese/Alien comment stuff... I just don't let it publish!!! I think Comment Moderation is the bestest of all blogspot features. PeeS... have you noticed that the bloggers who use WORDPRESS don't have any of that crap... ooops I mean stuff for us to have to contend with??? I'm just sayin'.
The only downside... when I went to Lori's for the weekend... I worried that you might be upset when your (VERY IMPORTANT TO ME) comment didn't appear for about 87 days. So... I just took a chance and Pre-posted my blogs and turned Comment Moderation OFF for the time I was gone. I was very much glad to get it back ON though when I got home.
I still hate the stupid box that comes up and I have to say yes or no to seeing parts or all of your comment section. I think that is just beclaws MOM has all these security settings on HIGH beclaws... of the telephone incident... 87 years ago. Sheeesh!!!

PeePeeS... are you guys having fun with your Cows Milky thingys? I have been playing with mine every night. It is really fun to chew on. I have even learned how to bend it over and I got to flip my dad with it. hehehe SOMETIMES... when I kiss mom up real good.. she puts that squirt cheese in both ends. Whoa is that neat to try and get out. I just wondered if anyone else likes theirs.

I got all excited and barked at Mom to go to TSC right away and ours doesn't have any of the cow milky things, so I still don't know if I like them or not! Hmph!
We've thought about trying the comment moderation, but Mom is usually gone to work all during the day and we don't want to miss having the comments come up. We might try it, though!

Totally laughed at Chinese/Japanese/Alien. I know EXACTLY what comments you're talking about.
I have moderation enabled on posts older than three days old. For some reason, the spam comments tend to be left on my older posts, so this way ensures that they don't get there. I personally can't stand those stupid words, especially when it's not a pop-up comment page and you need to wait for the page to reload to get the word.

and we are going to try the moderator thingy wingy. we thought smap was a good thing cause mommish eats it sometimes but then she said it was not the same thing
the 'puter spam you can eat and they just offer you millions of dollars as a hoax and we think that if you cant eat it then its not good for the pibble pack at all

I see you have started a movement, Frankie. Well, count me in! But, know that I use blogger myself and that I don't even moderate comments and I still get all the comments via email, so I don't have to miss a word. So far so good for me. I'll keep it this way as long as I can.

We have our bloggy set up to send all comments directly to our peemail address. It doesn't keep spam from showing up now and then but at least we catch it and delete it with great haste.
