Write Away Writers...

OKAY.... now you all know that WE of Blogville, RARELY have much Good to say about our Peeps...   so when one of them does somethingy... that doesn't Drive us CRAZY... we gotta tell about it...     RIGHT???        We gotta let the world know that NOW and THEN.. " they " aren't TOTAL Embarrassments and COMPLETE Squirrels ...   Once in a Blue Moon we get to ♫ SING ♫  our peeps Praises........                               That being said...
Our Mom goes to the Cooperstown Library every Thursday night to help a small group of  Kdg. to 6th. graders learn to write stuffs... OBVIOUSLY, MOM would like to be more like US.
They Named themselves the Write Away Writers... LAST Feb. when they furst started...   and that is what they do... they just Write thingys and Write thingys and Learn about how to do it even Better...     like No Plagiarizing ...  and How to Paraphrase...   and how to make sure the 5 W's and a HOW get into their writings...    Who What When Where Why.. and How.
That was all well and good fur writing Stories and stuffs...  butt ONE NIGHT...  a girrrrrl asked about Writing...   SONGS...  and our mom cant even play a RADIO let alone write music and lyrics  THAT is way WAY outta mom's ability...        SO    Thursday evening...   Mom had a Speaker/Song WRITER/guitar player/Singer guy... and his Wife come to help the Young Writers...
The Kidlets made a Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hall Sign... and they put their Names on it...

And soon the Library was FILLED with GRRREAT Music and Information...
Some of the Moms and Dads even Stayed to
Hear what Mr. Ken would be telling
the group about.

The Writers had WRITTEN some Questions... that Mom got to Mr. Ken ahead of time... and he Answered ALL of THOSE...     Like ..  How Long does a song have to be?   Which do you write FURST... the Music ♫ or the Lyrics?.. (they knew that word..)     How do you keep other people from stealing your songs?  How old were you when you wrote your Furst song?

Mr. Ken... listened to the Songs that Two of the Writers had written...   the Others had songs ALSO... butt they were too SHY to sing in front of everybuddy...    ♫ ♪ ♫
The group listened to One song that Mr. Ken wrote... called ♫ PUPPY LOVE♫... and there were NO WORDS...  just the beautiful sound of his guitar...
He told the kidlets that when it comes to writing songs...  there are LOTS of RULES... and there are NO RULES...     He said that Song writing comes from within and pretty much KNOWS NO BOUNDS...
He also said that people who write songs...  can't STOP doing it...   either the Tune or the Lyrics just POP into their heads... and they are compelled to Write.   ( MOM then spoke up and said that it is Exactly the Same fur those who Write STORIES...      WRITERS JUST CAN'T...NOT  Write.)
Mom came home from there SOOOO proud of her little group...   They were Attentive and Interested and POLITE...   and APPRECIATIVE...       Mr. and Mrs. Hall were FABULOUS.   EVERYBUDDY ♪ CLAPPED fur them ♪
Mom says that their Assignment fur Next Meeting Night is to   Write a THANK YOU note to Mr. and Mrs. Hall...  and to INCLUDE something about things they Learned and How Having them come HELPED them to become BETTER Writers.

GEE WHIZ...   now that we have written all this down...  we THOUGHT we had somethingy GOOD to tell about OUR MOM...  butt in Hind end  Sight...   We guess we were talking about how GRRRREAT Mr. and Mrs. Hall are... and how SUPER the Write Away Writers are...    Mom is just a POSER.        DARN...   we had Such High Hopes...  Just sayin.

BTW....  we think we should mention that Mr. Hall is actually...  Pastor Ken... from her beloved Pressed Butt Smearian Church..

I think your Mum deserves a lot of praise. Because if it hadn't been for your Mum, Mr Ken would never have come! And if it hadn't been for your Mum, he wouldn't have been able to answer all those questions. And if it hadn't been for your Mum, there might not even be a writing group!

Praise Mum!!

How cool is that? This group is blessed by your mom's involvement. She was the founder. Just like Frankie founded Blogville she founded this group. Maybe that is why we are fond of yous!

Is that a new denomination? We never heard of that particular one. Don't think the Presbyterians would lay claim to it. :)

It sure was nice of the Halls to come help the children learn about song writing, but you do have to give your mom credit for coming up with the idea and following through so everyone could have a good time.

No..No...She still gets credit, she ORGANISED it! AND she goes every week to work with the little peeps. Give her a treat!

How long does a song have to be?
Until it's over, of course.

That's pretty special. I can see from the pictures that these little humans are enjoying themselves and also being so attentive and well-mannered. I love this idea of filling the library with music for a little while. Books and music go so nicely together. Bravo on a wonderful event for the little kiddies!

That is great work your Mom is doing, and those kids are great too - they wouldn't be there if they didn't want to be good writers. That is one skill Mom says is really lacking among the young peeps today. Kudos to your Mom.

Wow,that's very cool your mom helps kids become better writers.

That would have been an interesting lecture about songwriting from Mr. Ken.

Thank you for your kind comments about Shiver on the POTP blog.

Your mom is awesome for helping children learn to become writers. Too many miniature humans never even go to the library. She is changing lives and that is pawsome. ♥

What a cool program to have. Your mom must love being around the kids each week. It's obvious that the teacher in her isn't done teaching yet.

I think your mom is amazing. She is very right about writers, too. They can't not write. It's impossible.
