OKAY.... you may not know this about ME... Frankie Furter... butt I am actually fully Educated and Certificated as a CERTIFIED THERAPY DOG.... that means that I can do Nursing Home, Hospital, School, Library, etc. visits.... BUTT I have not done any Hospitals EVER... and have only done a Nursing home a couple of times since moving to Pencil Vane E Ah.
Anyway... to be a CTD... I had to learn how to be around peeps who need Walkers, Canes, Wheel Chairs... and such... and to be able to sit in their laps or bedside... And to NEVER EVER.. Lick(KISS) with my tongue... butt some folks WANT kisses so I learned to just TOUCH my mouth to THEIR Mouth... THAT was a hard one...
OH and I had to learn how NOT to EVER take foodables from strangers.. or to EVER eat anythingy that I might "FIND" no matter how good it looked... that is so I would never eat a dropped PILL or some other type of Medicine... or touch any medical equipment.
and.... IF ... I EVER PICK UP SOMETHING... I leaned to DROP it... and then LEAVE IT...
If mom says LEAVE IT.... I am NEVER EVER allowed to touch it again... even if she hands it to me... I have to LEAVE IT... THAT is some tough stuffs do do... trust me.
SO way back like 87 years ago... to get all of my PRACTICE... I used to go to SCHOOL with MOM... where She was the Head Librarian in the two elementary schools. SHE saw 900 kidlets every week... in and out and in and out... they came... they learned... they checked IN their books..and checked out new ones... Butt I digress.
I went to school with her... fur WEEKS... furst I had to learn to be SEPARATED from mom without going SQUIRRELLY... I did that by going to OTHER classrooms... the ones fur kidlets with Special Needs... two of them in Each Building... I stayed 1/2 of the day in each room...
THAT is also where I learned how to deal with all the walking aids that the kidlets (or any other peeps I would ever encounter) might need.. Some of them were a little scary at furst... butt EVERYBUDDY was so good about helping me... esp. the kidlets. I just LOVED THEM.
OH and I also gotted special pawmission from the Superintendent to go to the CAFETERIAS... to learn about not eating thingys I shouldn't...
Now you may be wondering WHY I am telling you all this stuffs... Well, the other evening we went to the city of FRANKlin, Pencil Vane E Ah... where they were having a PET PAWRADE thingy... Like 87 Dawgs there and a ferret and two hammies... and some GAMES and stuffs fur both DAWGS and KIDLETS too... and Ernie and I were playing some of the DAWG games... when I saw a little girrrrrl... in a Wheel Chair... and ... well, my training just KICKED INTO HIGH GEAR...
I told mom to go talk to the Parents... and they said YES... so.... SOOOOOoooooooooo
Ernie went with DAD and I went into WORK MODE...
The Furst thingy I did was to SIT in her LAP.... so we could get to know each other... and the girrrrrl was sooooooo happy... FUR PRIVACY WE WILL NOT BE SHOWING PICTURES OF HER FRONT FACING... AND WILL NOT EVEN USE HER NAME... SO.. the girl petted me and we talked and then she KISSED ME ON THE HEAD... and it made us both feel good.... so I turned around and gave her a (NO TONGUE) kiss on her lips... and she GIGGLED and GRINNED... and that made ME so happy... and MY MOM WAS OUTTA THE UNIVERSE PROUD OF ME FUR REMEMBERING. Well thingys went SO well that I asked if she would like to take me fur a WALK.... She had NEVER EVER IN HER YOUNG LIFE... WALKED A DOG... butt she trusted ME to take care of her.. I told the DAD how to push the chair... at MY pace... . and OFF WE WENT... I ignored the black dog that was coming our way... just like I am supposed to...
And when THIS dog gotted TOO Close I calmly said.... PLEASE move a bit so this girrrrl and I can get through... and her peeps agreed and made her move... butt not before they commented on how I was walking the girrrrl... like a PAWFESSIONAL... THAT was nice to hear.
THESE are Three of the PEEPS games that I helped HER to Play... We rolled her chair right up to the Connect the Paws game... and She used the Red ones I was BLUE... and she WON... again.... fur Privacy... these are some OTHER kidlets who were playing...
This was the Toss the bean Bag into the mouth thingys... that the girrrrrl got to play...
OH.... and they had a KITTY ONE TOO.... This kidlet got a HOLE IN ONE...
SO anyway.... not meaning to BRAG... butt my mom was SOOOO proud of how I remembered EVERYTHING that I needed to DO and NOT Do... and that the little Girrrl was SO happy.
Did I get any reward? Other than the Kiss and cuddles... I really didn't NEED anythingy else... butt...
More on THIS later...

Frankie, that is so awesome. I bet you made that little girl's day. Perhaps her parents will look at getting her a therapy dog because you showed them how awesome one could be for her.
Frankie you made my mom smile and her heart fill with pride. Bless your little dachshund heart. I bet that little girl will soon have a K9 friend of her on and all because of YOU!

PS good luck with your garden stuff
Frankie you brought the sun back to brittany today... we all had some tears in our eyes but tears with joy... I bet this girl will always remember the dachshund she met at Pet Pawrade and I can imagine that she dreamed about you that night. Hugs to you, that was wonderful what you and your momma did...

You are an inspiration, Frankie! My mom might make me a therapy dog one day (I know most of the basics and love peeps, and I do a really good leave it command) but I don't think I'd be able to resist giving kisses! What a pawsome adventure you had, Frankie!
Your pal,
Christmas
That's grreat, Ernie!! I did therapy dog training too, but I failed my final test -- the lady was TRYING to get me all excited, and I did, and I got a little jumpy. :( We were going to try again, but then we started fostering fur LBR and never got around to it. I hope I remember my training as well as you!
Good job! We would never make it as therapy dogs as we love to give kisses and hugs and Mom wouldn't ever want us to stop doing that. You had a great time and brightened the girls day for sure!
Good boy, Frankie! <3
Monty, Harlow and Ramble
Oh, Frankie! That is so wonderful!!!! We're proud of you, too! I'll bet you made that sweet girl SO happy!
We think it's fairly crummy that the other dogs' owners would let them approach you like they did -- couldn't they see you were working?!? I think there are a lot of bipeds out there who need training!
Great job, Frankie!
Cammie!

Well, I am most proud of you too. It sounds like you did extremely well with all the dos and donts and most importantly, you made that little girl happy. Imagine how she felt walking a dog for the first time. Frankie, Ma and I are just SO proud to know you! You are one GREAT DAWG!
OH Frankie we are so proud of you, we did not know that about you, I bet that little girl thought the King was walking and talking to her, with your beautiful curls, I bet she wanted to take you home, and keep you, and hug and kiss you. What a special special boy you are. stella rose

Wowser, Frankie, those rools has gotted strict! I was nefur therapy dog material cuz I used to woof at anybuddy that be different (MAJOR FAILING OF TEST) but my predasessor, Bandit the Aussie mix, was a furry certifiable therapy dog and she could do all stuffs and not woof at peeps. So I do knows how hard that be. But you, my furrend, wented above and beyond the call of dooty. Kudos to you!
Hey Frankie!
Wow, you're such a wonderful pro at that stuffs! You surely did brighten that little girl's world and she'll always remember you. Most excellent job and we're all super proud of you.
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, Police Commish
Oh Frankie you got your reward in heaps just knowing you gave joy to a child. You know that is what we were meant to do but with special training we can reach heights that break boundaries. Kudos Frankie.
Happy 4th of July
Sweet William The Scot
Frankie, you are a legend. (Even I, Roxy, grudgingly admit that.) Bet that girrrrl will be telling EVERYONE about the wonderful dog who took care of her! We know your mom is PROUD.
(Now, you really don't eat stuff you find?) PeeS...we don't get black ice here, but it's colder further north where Barb lives, and they get it to the east of us. SHE only drives after it has warmed up in winter IF SHE has to go that way.
Congratulations Frankie! Good job!
We have a little doggie named Henry who comes to the nursing home where ghostwriter works. His owner just leaves him there for two hours. The recreation staff (but usually ghostwriter) brings him to the people who would appreciate a visit with him. Just about everybody loves him! He brings out the best in some of the biggest grumpies that you wouldn't think would respond to a little doggie sitting on their lap!
Keep up the good work!
Oh dude!!!! That is just PAWSOME!!! I bets you made that little gurl's MONTH!!! She will be talkin' abouts you and your fun adventure furevers!!! You and your Moms should be reallllly proud! pawsome work!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
pees: this is why I could never do that work...slobber!!! lots and LOTS of slobbers....hehehe

You were good for nothing?
OMD, you are our hero, Frankie! You are beyond awesome, buddy!
Well done, F! Therapy work is important work. It brings smiles every time. Good job, little buddy. You change a life when you bring a smile.
