Burl I'ves Seen....

I made a FRANKIE FUNNY..... fur those of you who even KNOW who Burl Ives was...

Butt Seriously ... we went on a little excursion about 87 days ago and we saw this GIANT  BURL in a tree...   that was WAY WAY up this ROCKY HILL....

MOM had to use the BIG Zoomie thingy on the Flashy beast in order to get a good picture of it.
It was TOO steep and Rocky and stuffs fur us to CLIMB up there Closer...
Here is the Zoomied picture of the Burl....   folks use this sort of woody growth to make LOTS of very Expensive and BEAUTIFUL wooden thingys...         Hard to believe that under that UGLY thingy growing from the side of the tree...   Gorgeous thingys can be crafted...
Ernie thought it was the trees BRAINS hanging out...    Butt then you know Ernie.

Have YOU ever seen anything made from BURL Wood?    If so.... tell us about it.

Ernie has no idea what brains look like. He doesn't see any when he looks in the mirror. I ought to know-it happens when I look in the mirror.

I did not knows that you could make things out of those burls. I do sees them all the time on hikes and mom always tries to guess what they looks like coz sometimes they looks like a face or an owl or whatefur. But she has not guessed tree brains yet. No doubt she will someday.

Oh our mom loved Burl Ives!!! She used to see lots of things made from burls when she was a girl and lived in California and they visited some of the forests. People would make things like table tops from slices of big burls

Maybe your Dad could cut that burl down and make something crafty with it.
