I spect SHE is gonna Show Us ALL Up come Sunday... when she gives her mom a beautiful  Ground Hog Teefs Necklace!!!  FUR MOTHER's DAY!!!    What a Present THAT will be.     SIGH....   I wish that I (Frankie Furter) could come up with somethingy FANGtastic like THAT fur MY mom.   SIGH...
Now while Puddles was Deadening her ground hog...    I was out checkin my PAWperty fur stuffs.. And I came across a Baby BIRD...   Now you know this is still a time of FURSTs fur Ernie so I Called him and said...   LOOK... and SNIFF and WATCH...  butt do NOT TOUCH..

The poor guy was Stunned beclaws he has Never been that Close to a REAL LIVE BIRD before.
YES, Ernie it REALLY IS a LIVE BIRD.     Don't be afraid...   I'm hear with you.
Ernie Couldn't believe his Eyes or Nose.
He was very careful and did NOT Touch or Hurt it at all.     I was sooooo PROUD.
After he had a chance to ENJOY the experience for a while... I told him we needed to get away so the momma bird could take care of her baby.
It was quite an experience fur my pup.     And I suppose the baby bird felt the same.      His mom came later and took him safely away.

We have a baby bird, too. It fell out of a rather big pine tree last Sunday. Mom thought the neighbor's cats had gotten it. They were really sad.
Then Mom goes to mow and here goes the baby bird flapping for all it's worth to get out of the way. So Mom only mowed half of the lawn so the bird would have some tall grass to hide in.
I mean, if the bird had lasted from Sunday til Friday.. then we should do all we can to help it get by longer.
It's mom is feeding the birds up top and the baby bird down below. That robin momma has to be tired!!

Wowser.....you and Ernie showed real restraint by not gobbling up da baby bird. It really be baby-bird-season round here too. Uncle Tommy had two in his yard Saturday.....both nestlings learning to furst fly.

Hey F-n-E!
Wow, my Mom is so proud of you guys! She knows that I woulda bashed that critter in 2 seconds flat. Mom would have been furious with me and cried and everything. She says you two boys did the right thing. Very cute little birdie, so I'm glad too! Great job!
BTW: Puddles definitely deserves a trophy for supreme bashing!

You're so lucky! I'm always trying to get close enough to birds to say hello, but just as I come running up, they always fly away. So not fair!

Wow, that is very close to the bird! So impressive guys! Looks like little Ernie is growing up :)

Another trophy for Miss Huntress Puddles. Where will she put it?
Frankie you are such a good brother to teach Ernie what to do if he finds a fallen bird. I'm glad he has you there to experience all these new things.

We guess we have to be proud of both of you, but we could really use your help here with the bunnies - they are so tempting.

That is so great that Ernie could just look but not touch! I don't know what I would do - but I know mum would not let me PLAY with it because she says I have big mopey paws and I don't know how to be gentle.

A ground hog is pretty big!! how in the world did she manage that?

It was very good that you taught little Ernie not to hurt the bird, Mama birds can get really mad when you go near their babies. :-)

Frankie, I must tell you again what an excellent brother you are for Ernie. He seems to be much better at listening to you also. I am glad the Mommy bird took her baby home. I can only imagine all the things you have yet to teach him about critters on your property.

Loveys Sasha

p.s. Frankie, when do you know it is the right time to dead something? Is it feeling you get in your tummy or the way they look at you?? Just curious

Good for you for being gentle with mama birdie's baby, Ernie!

Love ya lots,

A groundhog huh? We got one living outside our fence. Also some possums and a big ole' rabbit. I don't get to dead none of 'em... OR those baby kitties that hung around here. I guess I'll have to be a pacifist.... thanks to Jen *sigh*
