BLUEBERRIES..... a LOVE Story about..

I hope you remember back on May 19th. when our dear furend Booker Man posted about his special TREE that he named Baby Stan.. Last year when he planted it. Beclaws this is a very much similar story. I am thinkin that Booker Man and I are BOTH gonna make Blogville's Sec. of Agriculture, Wyatt very much Proud.

Last spring... as I am sure you remember... I had my mom order THREE BLUEBERRY BUSHES. Then I carefully chose where I wanted them planted and I let my DAD help me do the hard work of putting them in their furever home.
This is my dad dropping some good fertilizer stuffs down in one of the holes.. which I MOSTLY dug all by myself, by the way.

NEXT.. we carefully put them in and covered them up.

It was very much a labor of LOVE... beclaws I NAMED THEM...

Not TOO much dirts dad... BE very very VERY careful... Don't squish Penny's roots.

EASY there dad.. Ruby needs to be Nice and Straight.

As you can tell I named them after my Beautiful girrrrls. AND guess what else. I put ME (Frankie Furter) right in the MIDDLE... where I could watch over them and keep them safe. AND it is a DARNED good THINGY that I did that. BECLAWS Charcoal and Charcoal's WILD furend.. Brownie... CHEWED Me all up about a MONTH ago. BUTT, I didn't mind at all beclaws I Kept my WIVES all safe from the attack!!!

THIS is what I (Frankie Furter the Blueberry bush) Look like When Brownie QUIT.

Butt I am happy to report that RUBY is all fine and beautiful. AND... guess WHAT.. Ruby has some BUDS coming on.

AND... PENNY... has BLOOMS.

Isn't that the grrrreatest Cool Drool thingy you have ever seen????

You might notice all that black and brown stuffs around us... that is a mix of COFFEE GROUNDS and PINE NEEDLES... We have to have that stuffs beclaws the soil here is very heavy... CLAY... which is a BASE and We BLUEBERRY PLANTS MUST HAVE ACID SOIL.

HERE we three are. Penny is closest to you.. I am in the middle still watching after the wives (of course)... and Ruby is just beyond Me... closest to my garden.

PeeS... that Green building beyond the Garden... is where my dad and I keep our garden tools and John the Deer lives in there too.

I may not get good internets fur the next few days.. sooo if I don't get to you.. that is why. BAD STORMS do this to me. BAH

Hey Frankie!
Wow, very nice job with your blueberry bushes! Those are super yummy. I'm sure the girls are pleased. Mom says to put a few moth balls around the plants and that smell keeps the critters away! Wyatt will be impressed.

Oh, what a sweet story of blueberry love. This makes us think of lots of our blogging furiends - Booker, you, Penny, Ruby, and Blueberry, too! Does this mean you will have real blueberries this year? You could invite your wives down for a blueberry picking party and then make PIES to celebrate. Yummmm, pies!

We're well impressed Frankie - you've definitely got the green paws! Plants don't last too long around here on account that Dexter has to 'christen' every plant in the garden regularly - SHE's given up now so at least we have more grass! Dex & Lou x

How did I miss that Booker Man post? Will have to go back and read it.

You did a great job helping your dad dig the holes and protect the plants. Are you going to snack on those blueberries before your mom has a chance to gather them off the bushes?

I love that you named them after your wives. Well, and after yourself too.
