Deer and Tornado update

Hey everybuddy,
I have been busy as a three legged Squirrel Chaser since my dad brought my Deer Home!!
You would not believe how DELICIOUS it is. I have already cleaned One bone and am working on another one. Fresh meats are the bestest.
I had my dad get the antlers off for my darlings.. Ruby and Penny. Later he will cut them into some better sized pieces for them. If you are interested... you can actually BUY deer antlers at PetSmart... Butt of course the are NOT Fresh. Take a Paw and a Leg though beclaws they want a lot of green papers for them... The upside(s) is that they will last for... years... they do NOT stink like cow hooves (which are wonderful) and... they do NOT splinter.

My mom has canned 24 Quarts of deer meat. THAT is a LOT from One deer. The tenderloins is all taken care of and frozen ( they were a whopping 26 inches long.) And the dehydrator is full of Jerky. Mom also cooked a bunch of really grrrreat meat for me. She will put carrots and pumpkin in it and run all that through the food processor or the grinder. Then I have her put it in sandwich bags and freeze for me... It is to Drop and Roll for let me tell you that. Especially if she warms it in the microwave. OMD OMD OMD I just go all nutsy cookoo over that ... Any way... we will be eating GOOOOOOOD this winter thanks to the garden and my dad. Chili Veggie Soup Lasagna Noodles eggs & "steak" BBQ or just warmed up and eaten with crackers. There are MORE things we do with canned venison... butt I just can't even stand Listing the rest... I am drooling.
Now some of you wanted to know about the Tornado clean up. All of the houses are now repaired EXCEPT for the one that lost the ENTIRE ROOF. We Know those folks and stopped to check on them a few days ago. They have moved into a small house that they own.. and used to rent out... It is sooooo lucky that they had that beclaws... their house has been CONDEMNED. It is 6 inches off the foundation and there are Major other structural damages that can not be seen. The insurance Co. says they will pay for the full cost of demolition and the full price of the house.
Friday Puddles and I are going to do a Blog Etiquette/Issue post... beclaws it seems that something very impawtant has come up and needs to be addressed NOW... Not next month. We are here to serve you know. hehehe
PSA... speaking of blogs... I saw that Image Uploader will be disabled for 2 hours Wed. Oct. 20th from 5 PM PDT. That is TODAY you know. hehehe

I am looking forward to your Eat a Kit post because the Mango is keen to be proper at all times. That deer sure sounds nommy. We had a deer in our yard once. Poor thing somehow managed to jump over a five foot fence just to see ME, but he was shy and took off when I went to say hi.

Slobbers,

I have never had deer meat - does it taste like chicken? Just kidding. It sounds yummy!

I am very much looking forward to your Friday post. Could you give a little hint as to what it is about? Are we in trouble? It sounds most serious.

Your pal, Pip

You make me hungry just hearing about it and I have never had it before! I will be sure to tell mommy to get me the deers meats...
And patiently awaiting the etiquette post. Can always use a brush up on my manners :)

I learn so much when I come to visit. I do want to add that antlers are less expensive (fewer green papers) at the grocery store and some place named wally's than Petsmart but you have me thinking about going to the deer factory and asking about trimmings. Factory fresh sounds almost as good as having a dad who brings them home.

wow wow wow.. you will be eating good all winter frankie! The closest I got to venison is when I chased a deer on the trail. Wow.. a simple sniffer had me high as a kite and that chase was the best ever. I can't even imagine what you are going thru right now.. pure bliss.

Yikes! Thanks for the heads up on the image uploader! That would have driven Mom and me crazy for sure!

Oh Frankie! Mom's mouth was all watering. She remembers how yummy deer steak, burgers and jerky are! We miss it now that grandpa can't hunt much. I hope you enjoy it all!

Isn't it crazy how much destruction those tornadoes can cause? We have them around here a lot and have seen just how scary it is. Stay safe!

I cannot wait to read about your next BLOG ETIQUETTE/PROBLEMS post on Friday and I think it's brilliant that you are doing that for all of us! It's like reading an advice column and I love it! I think my computer is stupid or starting to come down with a cold or it is a blogger issue at times. Frankly (heehee) I think it's inconvenient that we can't post pictures at 5 pm tonight! Grrrr! I've been having problems posting pictures lately so maybe it's a good thing!
Oh, thank you for the tornado and deer update! Daisy has never had any deer lately but she is a dear (heeeheee)!

Oooh all that talk of jerky, and meat has us drooling. We love deer antler too! Mom has to get us our antlers at the pet boutique and some of them can be quite pricey indeed. But it is worth it, because it is one of the few things that Dottie doesn't destroy in 0.000001 seconds.

Fresh deer antlers! Lucky! We bought one for Dar from a pet store and she still has it! I like it cause its not smelly, but I think Darwin likes her raw bones because they are smelly!

My mom is always talking about cooking for us and getting a grinder and all the stuffs but she can't hardly cook for herself so I'm not sure that will ever happens. Maybe I can come stay with you this winter? My dad hasn't even been out looking for my antlers at all this year. He keeps say, "Next week." I might have to resorts to stale antlers again. Sheesh!

So glad insurance will be helping out your neighbors! That tornado was awful.

Our deer seasons is not til Novembers, so we have to wait til then fur Uncle Tommy-da Harley Man to go out and bags da prey! heeheee.....I thinks he really goes to have a weekend to drink beers and play poker with da boys (ssshhhh, don't tell my momma)

I needs to tell him to bring us some antlers this time, though.

I'm wondering, though. He has lots of da old deer antlers hanging up at Lucy's house. They be three or four years old. Do you think they would still be good fur us to chew on?? They never been 'treated' with anythings...they just old. Hmmm???

I think I might just invite myself to dinner at your house one night!

Thanks for the update about the tornado. It's too bad the one house was condemned but luckily they have insurance and have another place to stay while a new home is being built for them.

Looking forward to your etiquette post. Id like to think I'm following all the rules and if I'm not, it's probably because I don't really know them.

Your Mom is like Wonder Woman or something. I have two Moms and neither of them have ever canned anything in their lives. Alpha Mom is a vegetabletarian who doesn't even cook really and Blog Mom cooks and stuff, but she'd really rather be anywhere else but the kitchen. Your Mom is like a whole different species. You are living large, my furiend.

lotsa licks, Lola
