More Ducky Stuffs

Okay,   Furst we want to tell you that we are gonna be Gone all weekend...   and THEN we have to do somethingy (which we will tell you all about in the future) that will keep us TOTALLY BIZZY on Monday and Tuesday...     We don't think it is fair to POST and not be around to read YOUR Posts...   It would be RUDE not to comment on YOUR blogs... if YOU comment on OURS.....  so...   ONCE AGAIN... we are gonna take a few days of Bloggy Break.

NOW....   MORE Ducky Stuffs...
as you can see from THESE pictures... these CRAZY Ducks....  don't know WHICH side of the Street they want to be on...

Back and Forth...  Back and Forth...    and Speaking of   FOURTH..
Notice that the Fourth Ducky... the Brown one... is MISSING...     and now we will tell you the sad thingy about how THAT came to be.
One day we had a HOOGE HOOGE  rain...    3 inches came down in 45 Minutes...   it was Wild and Crazy...    no thunder... no wind...  just the hardest fastest RAIN we had EVER SEEN.
THIS is what our Yard looked like after it stopped...

this picture was taken before it Totally stopped.   When it DID quit the Red Floaty thingy was Right on the 3" mark...        That was WAY too much water ... Way too FAST fur the town Drains to take away...
SO the STREET totally Flooded... these are the neighbor's Snail Mail and news paper boxes...  SURROUNDED with Water...  and it was going down the neighbor Across the street, Driveway...
THIS is OUR driveway...   and that Dark Box is where we put our Trash.. and you can see OUR Snail Mail box above it on the right...    The Trash box thing had Water/Mud marks  6" high.
AND the Water KEPT coming UP even after the Water Fall of Rain Stopped...  See the neighbor's yard.... it looks like a LAKE...
It ALMOST came up to the Gravel area where Mom turns Jessie Jeep around when she backs outta the Garage...
THIS is the OTHER side of our Driveway...   you can see that it was flooded WAY up into our front yard...  Fortunately it did NOT make it clear up to our house.    BUTT one of the neighbors DID get out their CANOE... and were going up and down the street... and across Yards....    Just sayin.
Now when the Rain Quit and the Water was still covering the STREET and the End of our Drive... THE DUCKS... thought it would be Super Fun to SWIM ... where the Street is...   they were having a BLAST...   UNTIL... the water started to go back down...(which took about an hour)...  and the Street could again be Seen...      BUTT that didn't stop them...  they just went back to galumphing back and forth across the street.. to where BIG Deep Puddles remained...      THEN....    THEN....
SADLY...   Cars and trucks started moving on the street again... and the little Brown Duck... Was No More.
PEE S...    we know 4 families that have lived here in Cooperstown, Pencil Vane E Ah for 50 years or more...    and they all say that they had NEVER EVER seen such a Hard Rain... and that that was the furst time EVER that this street was Totally Flooded over.     Just sayin.

REMINDER:   We will be away from Blogville fur a FEW days....   JUST A FEW this time... and when we come back...  we will tell you about...    CAMP BARK A LOT...

Have a fun weekend. I think ducks might not be the smartest, sadly. At least they don't seem to be real fast learners.

Oh you shouldn't fret about the comment thing guys (though I kinda agree); I have few folk who reciprocate that way, but it doesn't shut me up on their posts!!! Folks understand when you have to be away and it sounds as if something exciting as a-paw... That water event was a bit skeery though; wouldn't it be a horrible irony to have moved from the hill to the flat only to have such things become a common occurrence? *blah, wash your mouth wummin fur suggesting such a thing!* ... but at least the ducks proved the adage about "lovely weather for..." Such a shame about Brownie though. You be sure to enjoy whatever it is that's coming up!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Aww, poor brown duckie! Momma always reminds us that streets aren't safe for playing, no matter HOW deserted they might look!

Wow that sure was a lot of water. We're sorry that the one duck was having too much fun in the road to see the truck coming. Maybe you could put a duck crossing sign up to warn the drivers. Have fun on your weekend adventure.

Wow! That was quite a flood! Too bad about the little brown duck. Ghostwriter often sees chickens, ducks, and geese in the farm house yards she passes on her way to work. She often wonders how they know to stay off the busy street.

That is a crazy rainfall! Flooding is so scary. We had a big scare for our son and his family in Houston during Hurricane Harvey but thankfully, they were okay. So sorry about the brown duck. (Sob) We are out of town this weekend too so I am catching up while the grandbaby sleeps.

Poor little duckie. That sure was a lot of rain. They must have been very confused. As for all the back and forth, maybe they like the grass on both sides of the road instead of it being "the grass is always greener on the other side . . ."

Too bad for brown duckie. We have a large irrigation canal that runs right through one side of our property. The water fill up in the spring and we have ducks and then later in the summer we have ducks and baby ducks swimming. But now the water is all gone and we don't know where they go.
