MORE Winter Time Good Eats...

We thought we would show you ANOTHER winter time Favorite in Our House...
SOMETIMES mom allows what we all call      BREAKFAST fur SUPPER...

Scrambled EGGS      MEAT and either Pan Cakes or    FRIED Mush.

Check out the EGGS...
These come from a lady who goes to the Pressed Butt Smearian Church with Mom...

These two WHOPPERS are DUCK EGGS....
They are SOOOO big they won't let the Lid close on the Egg Keeper...

Even the Chicken Eggs are pretty good Size...    Mom Scrambled TWO Ducky Eggs and 6 Chick Eggs all together...    they were CRAYOLA YELLOW when they were fried up.   AND Delicious.

Now THIS is a picture of some Very much Special CORN MEAL...   MY ABBY had her Mom send this to us...     it is course ground... and has all the GRRRREAT Flavor that it SHOULD...
So mom added some Salt and Sugar to Water and make it Boil... then added the right amount of Corn Meal... that she had SOAKED fur a while to Soften...

When it was fully Cookered and thickened...  she put it into a Pan and covered with Plastic Wrap. to SET...  in the Fridge...  ALL DAY LONG Actually
THIS is how it looks when SET...
Then mom Flips it outta the Pan... Slices it THICK... Rolls it in some Flour... to help it brown and get crispy...      Serve the mush with Warm Syrup over it...

OMD    BREAKFAST Fur SUPPER...    Scrambled Eggs... Bacon or Sausage... and FRIED MUSH.

THANKS ABBY... (and Thanks to your VERY GENEROUS Mom)

We love breakfast for dinner! Although we're not much into scrambled eggs, we prefer them fried with some bacon below and some cheese on top!

That meal looks like it would totally hit the spot on a cold, Winter day or night! And wow! I didn't realize that duck eggs were so much bigger than chicken eggs.

There is a farm two miles away that sells their eggs all year from a little mini fridge out front, on the honor system. I find duck eggs mixed in with the chicken eggs too! And I know what you mean about Crayola yellow. Those home-raised chickens make the yellowest yolks I've ever seen. (I love knowing the chickens are out having normal chicken lives too.) MMM the cornmeal mush is giving me ideas…maybe cornbread tonight!

Yum, Yum, Yum. We LOVE breakfast for dinner at our house. Mom just fried up some snausages that were thawed but not eaten over the weekend to chop and freeze to put on homemade pizza bones this Friday. I saw her sneak and eat TWO pieces when she thought I wasn't looking. But did she share? NOOOOOO. She said the spices would make me phart!

We're glad you liked the cornmeal from the Graue Mill. They open up in April and we can send more. Mom won't cook with anything else now and always has some in her freezer.

I think in a restaurant that fried mush is called polenta. And it's an $18 appetizer!
