Miss Puddles ROCKS! I am surprised you did not eat that little bird. Just a couple of bites, right? Maybe next time.
What a sweet lil bird and cool to find it - Ernie loPks very impressed! And we are super impressed by Puddles' magnificent feat! Kudos to her fearlessness!
Big hugs xxxxx

Phew... We're so glad that you didn't wrap your pearly teeth around that baby birdie. When he get's big and strong you can admire him flying all around your yard. I just know he'll come back to say thank you for not hurting him.
We have a baby bird, too. It fell out of a rather big pine tree last Sunday. Mom thought the neighbor's cats had gotten it. They were really sad.
Then Mom goes to mow and here goes the baby bird flapping for all it's worth to get out of the way. So Mom only mowed half of the lawn so the bird would have some tall grass to hide in.
I mean, if the bird had lasted from Sunday til Friday.. then we should do all we can to help it get by longer.
It's mom is feeding the birds up top and the baby bird down below. That robin momma has to be tired!!
Milo and Dixie
Wowser.....you and Ernie showed real restraint by not gobbling up da baby bird. It really be baby-bird-season round here too. Uncle Tommy had two in his yard Saturday.....both nestlings learning to furst fly.
Awwwe! What a wonderful experience for Ernie! I'm glad you told him to look but don't touch!
Wow, my Mom is so proud of you guys! She knows that I woulda bashed that critter in 2 seconds flat. Mom would have been furious with me and cried and everything. She says you two boys did the right thing. Very cute little birdie, so I'm glad too! Great job!
BTW: Puddles definitely deserves a trophy for supreme bashing!
Grr and Woof,
Oh baby bird was afraid hiding in the corner. Good thing you guys found him instead of Puddles.
Sweet William The Scot
Oh I think Puddles trophy is GREAT!!! Good idea Frankie!! WOW a real live bird. Ernie should be proud to have you teach him stuffs.
You're so lucky! I'm always trying to get close enough to birds to say hello, but just as I come running up, they always fly away. So not fair!
Wow, that is very close to the bird! So impressive guys! Looks like little Ernie is growing up :)
Another trophy for Miss Huntress Puddles. Where will she put it?
Frankie you are such a good brother to teach Ernie what to do if he finds a fallen bird. I'm glad he has you there to experience all these new things.
Well done on not eating the bird mates! Deccy x
We guess we have to be proud of both of you, but we could really use your help here with the bunnies - they are so tempting.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Zoie would have taken one small bite and that little bird would be in heaven!! She has killed a rabbit and is trying real hard for a squirrel next kill!! She's ruff on the poor wild life and they all want Bambi back!!
You two were very very good doggies!!!!
Wow...you showed great restraint. I'm sure that mama bird was very happy that you didn't touch her baby.
WTG Puddles!!! hehe
Great job on being nice to the little birdie, I don't notice things like that at all BOL! xxx
BOL at the groundhog teefs necklace!
I'm glad you two were so nice to the baby bird. It was probably more scared than Ernie.
You two are so sweet to take such good care of da baby bird till da Momma could take it away. Now if it was me....well, just tink of it as...OH NO, WHAT HAVE I DONE?
Great nature lesson for Ernie. Glad it worked out so well for all.
I am happy you didn't hurt the birdie.... I am not sure how I feel about the Miss Puddles thing....
Such self control!
I am glad you were gentle with the baby bird
Love and licks, Winnie
Good thing you were both gentle with the birdie! Being gentle is the best thing for all situations I think!
I'm amazed at how careful you both are with the baby bird. Are you certified bird watchers?
I'm glad Ernie was so careful! What a great guy he's growing up to be!
That sure was nice of you guys to check in on the birdie and not hurt it. Glad its mom came and took it away safely.
We're so glad and amazed by that Puddles! Congratulations, a mighty huntress.
That is so great that Ernie could just look but not touch! I don't know what I would do - but I know mum would not let me PLAY with it because she says I have big mopey paws and I don't know how to be gentle.
Tail Wuggles, Rubie
A ground hog is pretty big!! how in the world did she manage that?
It was very good that you taught little Ernie not to hurt the bird, Mama birds can get really mad when you go near their babies. :-)
Frankie, I must tell you again what an excellent brother you are for Ernie. He seems to be much better at listening to you also. I am glad the Mommy bird took her baby home. I can only imagine all the things you have yet to teach him about critters on your property.
p.s. Frankie, when do you know it is the right time to dead something? Is it feeling you get in your tummy or the way they look at you?? Just curious
Good for you for being gentle with mama birdie's baby, Ernie!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
A groundhog huh? We got one living outside our fence. Also some possums and a big ole' rabbit. I don't get to dead none of 'em... OR those baby kitties that hung around here. I guess I'll have to be a pacifist.... thanks to Jen *sigh*
