of APRIL 15th...
Here's the stuff you gotta know:
The mayoral pawsition may be held by ANY Blogville citizen, regardless of species or continent.
This is a 1-year term commitment that may be extended to a second year (but the rules clearly state there is a term limit of 2 years).
Job duties: It is the mayor’s duty to foster good feelings and fun in Blogville while helping to unify and strengthen relationships among Blogville citizens. Leadership and organizational skills will be helpful.
How to Apply: You can nominate someone you think would be a good candidate or you may volunteer to be a candidate. All names must be brought forth by the dead lion of April 15th! All nominees must confirm their acceptance of the nomination by that same time. No exceptions to this dead lion!!
How Mayor will be chosen: A secret election will be held and the candidate who receives the most votes will be declared the winner. The winner will be inaugurated in January.
Campaigning: There will be NO organized campaigns or debates (although candidates may do anything they want on their own blogs so the citizens can learn more about them). Instead, the candidates are asked to demonstrate their leadership, organizational, and communication skills by working together and organizing a Summer Olympics Event in August.
To Nominate: Put your nomination in as a comment. The nominee may accept or decline the nomination by replying to the comment or emailing the current or prior mayors.
To Volunteer: Either volunteer in the comment section of this post or email any of the individuals shown above.
A list of candidates who have either volunteered or accepted a nomination will be published on April 18th.
This announcement has been approved by all current and former mayors of Blogville. |

I nominate the dishonorable Sammy the Squirrel. NOT
Wow time sure flies when you are having fun. It seems like just yesterday you were mayor, than Maddie, and wasn't it just yesterday Stanley and Murphy took over. All of you have done such terrific jobs, the bar is set very high for whoever follows in your paws.
We are glad this one isn't totally wonky (but the letters did go small in the text). We were hoping maybe more citizens would throw their collars in the ring but we do have excellent candidates so far!
Murphy & Stanley

There are so many who would be great mayors. They've got big paws to fill though.

OMD, already! Gosh, time flies ...
Wow, hard to believe it's time to start thinking about electing a new mayor again. Seems like we just voted a couple of months ago.
This is an exciting time in Blogville! Who is going to compete paw to paw for the mayor's job?
