John Chapman the apple of our i

The other day.....   we stopped in the City of FRANKlin...  which I am SURE was named fur ME...

and took pictures of this Cool Drool little Park

The really Cool thingy was the TRIBUTE Plaque   fur    JOHNNY APPLESEED.....
In life he was Quite a Character....  he refused to EVER wear Shoes... no matter how cold or snowy or icy it was....     he said it was to punish his FEET for stepping on Insects.          He may have been a bit Quirky... butt his efforts to plant apple orchards all over Ohio, Pencil Vane E Ah,  West Virginia, Indiana,  Kentucky...etc...,      actually saved many of the Settlers from going Hungry and kept them WELL....     he Sold Seedlings  whenever he could...   but mostly gave them away...      He got all the Seeds that he used for starting the seedlings... from folks who had Cider Presses...

That is French Creek ... you can see behind the plaque.
Maybe they named it FRANKlin beclaws even Way Back THEN... they knew that I would be moving to the area.
We liked the park and the signs.... butt as you can see   SOMEbuddy doesn't know how to Spell Pencil Vane E Ah ... worth a Hoot or a Honk.

Thank you  Johnny Appleseed Chapman  fur bringing your Apples to our Region.

Well I never, was that man clever! I think he must have read about the Jainis of India, who even won't eat root crops because lifting them from the earth may kill living organisms!!! He was a truly great man, methinks... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Mom read a story about that Appleseed guy to the kids in her class, back when she was a teacher. Besides no shoes, he also wore a cooking pot on his head. Quirky? Yeah, I guess so.

Well, it has been a long time since Ma heard about good ole Johnny Appleseed! How cool that you live near a place that commemorates him - and is, honestly, named after YOU!

Hey Frankie, he's from Massachusetts and he's a big deal up here, too. They even have a trail you can follow named the Johnny Appleseed trail. There are lots of festivals, etc. during apple season.
